  • Krush Performance: Season Wrap Up – Talent & The Krush Brain Game #4 – Stewart Armstrong

Is it possible that our kids are spending less time outside than prison inmates? The answer to this will alarm you!

The area in which we play and roam is shrinking by the year and for our kids, it could very well be restricting their development. The environment and the influence it will have on your growth and development may be more powerful than we realize. If so, then how does a lack of free play and a shrinking general radius of play impact our ability to learn, adapt, and function in sport and in the real world of life?

It’s an important topic that gets very little consideration. With the greatest of intentions are we hindering the development of our youth, our athletes, and ourselves?

This week on Krush Performance, we talk with Stewart Armstrong, Skill Acquisition and Talent Development Expert and host of The Talent Equation Podcast, to discuss athlete development, coaching, and why it is so critical to just let our kids play.

  • Krush Performance: Season Wrap Up – Talent & The Krush Brain Game #3 – Dr. Kevin Mitchell

When it comes to who you are, how you act and how you respond to your environment everything goes to mission control…your brain.

Your brain is an incredible organ; it is a learning machine! It is literally structured and wired to learn. While the wiring of the brain really does shape who you are your environment, the people around you and the influences we experience shape that wiring.

It’s a never-ending loop of development and we are going to do our best to map it all out with Dr. Kevin Mitchell, Associate Professor of Genetics and Neuroscience at Trinity College in Dublin.

We connect the dots and wrap up our three main themes of 2021 – talent, talent identification, & The Krush Brain Game.

  • Krush Performance: Season Wrap Up – Talent & The Krush Brain Game #2 – Dr. Richard Harvey

In the world of athlete development and player performance, it is critical that we have things in context especially when it comes to talent development, talent identification, and the Krush Brain Game.

We are joined by Dr. Richard Harvey of San Francisco State University to discuss training the brain and the psychology of resilience, courage, and hardiness. Which is reactive? Which is proactive? Do we truly understand what these important concepts are all about?

We find out on this week’s episode of Krush Performance as we connect the dots and wrap up our three main themes for this year, talent, talent identification, and The Krush Brain Game.

  • Krush Performance: Pain In The…. BACK!

This Week on Krush Performance, we’re talking injuries, back pain, and pain management. Injuries are one of the top reasons that athletes drop out of sport and back pain is one of the most common medical conditions with 80% of adults experiencing it during their lifetimes.

Back pain is the sixth most costly condition in the United States and low back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide.

They are huge issues in sport and life. Why then aren’t we doing a better job of attacking these issues?

Today, we get some answers from Dr. Darren Gray from Health Pointe Medical Centers, who talks about:

    • Acute & Chronic Pain

    • Pain Management
    • The use of Pain Killers & Medicines
    • Getting you back to doing the things you love to do.
