Forecasters expect the glacial lake responsible for producing Juneau’s annual glacial outburst flood to be full this week.
The Alaska Beacon reports that a small cruise ship operating in Southeast Alaska made an unexpected detour last week to help a 21-foot skiff that ran out of fuel between Petersburg and Juneau.
A Juneau nonprofit is among the first announced to be awarded grant funding through the Rural Health Transformation Program. Alaska health officials approved spending $4.5 million worth of a $272 million federal allocation toward more than a dozen Alaska health care projects last week.
