"I want to grow the fighter within me"
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. In today's episode, I review another one of Michelle Khare's Challenge Accepted videos where she trains to compete in her debut boxing match against fellow content creator Andrea Botez. In the review I walk you through her process of training for the fight under Olympic bronze medalist Tony Jefferies, I highlight how seriously Michelle was taking this fight compared to her peers, and I get personal about what it looks like for me to work on growing the fighter within me.

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. It's Valentines Day! Today we celebrate love and romance, but for some, it's a day to remember the ones that got away. That one crush in high school that you never got to date. In today's episode, I share the ones that got away from me, martial art style. I share three short stories about times when I was invited to train in specific martial arts but I decided not too for specific reasons. It's an episode full of regret, which isn't always a bad thing.

What's in a name?
In today's episode, we bring Celebrate March to a close with a look at my name. Yes, it is my birthday as well this month, and although I do not have the influence the rest of the people I highlighted this month have had, I still think there is an interesting origin behind my name. So strap in as I take you to the magical land of 1993 to discuss the films Dragon: The Story of Bruce Lee and the iconic 90s film The Crow. We also turn to the etymology of the name "Brandon" and see what Urban Dictionary has to say to understand the meaning behind my name.

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. With the Lunar New Year just a few days away, as we start the Year of the Snake, I have sat down to review the iconic Jackie Chan film Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. In this review, i go over a brief history of the early career of Jackie Chan including how important this film and the year 1978 was in his career. I also talk about how this film and Drunken Master establish a new blueprint that many martial art films still follow, including The Karate Kid. After reviewing the film proper, I talk about how one of the main quotes in this film resonates with me in my own matial artist identity.

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Recently, the trailer for the upcoming Superman movie dropped and it got me thinking about how James Gunn has a great opportunity to appeal to us, the martial arts movie goer, in this new relaunch. In this episode, I appeal to James Gunn with his love for B superheroes and lay out a whole pile of DC martial art superheroes that he could use. From fan favorites, to returning characters from other DC projects, to even one that he has already used, DC has a great opporunity to appeal to the martial artist in the new DCU.

Welcome to my dojo, mthis is Kung Fu Pizza Party. This is the 2025 Coming Soon edition of the show where I talk about three of the most anticipated films of 2025, Karate Kid Legends, Mortal Kombat 2, and Love Hurts. I walk through what we do and do not know about these movies, how simply the two Karate Kid universes are coming together, how I'm not thrilled about Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, and why I think all movies need Marshawn Lynch. Then I run down four rumored films that may be coming out in 2025 that all have Donnie Yen reportedly in them. Lastly, I tease what's coming soon here on Kung Fu Pizza Party in 2025 as I continue to expand the show to be the ultimate martial art pop culture show.

Everybody was Kung Fu fighting...
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. in today's episode, I sit down to go over the history of Carl Douglas's iconic song "Kung Fu Fighting" which turned 50 this year. As I explore the history of the composition of the song, I also explore the history of the term "chopsocky" which contributed to the popularity of the song. After looking over the song's status as a one-hit wonder and the various groups who have covered the song, I breakdown the lyrics to help us better understand the story of this song. And of course, I over use the word "cats" and "funky" just to annoy you.
