This edition of KVC-Arts has David Fleming in conversation once again with Brian Hyland. This time it's a close reading of the 1970 UNI Records release simply called "Brian Hyland." It's an album which has a wonderful flow start to finish, and so we'll hear about it track by track. We also have a wonderful rendition of "I'm Afraid To Go Home" recorded in the KVCR studios.

Brian Hyland first hit the scene in 1959 with "Rosemary." He hit it BIG - still at the age of 16 - with "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and more carrying us into the early '60s. This edition of KVC-Arts begins with David Fleming in conversation with Brian Brigham, 1/4 of The Modern Gentlemen. They backed Frankie Valli for over a decade as The Four Seasons, but have been performing as The Modern Gentlemen for a few years now. It's a blend of Sinatra, pop, classic rock and more, all with the tight harmonies and sound they developed while with Valli. This edition of KVC-Arts has Lillian Vasquez in conversation with actress and author Loretta Swit. We'll hear about her career - with a primary focus on M*A*S*H. We'll hear about each of the major characters - and the actors who portrayed them - and hear about the evolution of Major "Hotlips" Houlihan.

The sole focus of this edition of KVC-Arts is on Arlo Guthrie. On Friday October 23rd, citing health as a concern, Guthrie announce his retirement from performance, effective immediately. This program revisits a conversation between David Fleming and Guthrie, touching on politics and public media, some favorite songs, and of course - Alice's Restaurant.

It's the story of a standup comic trying to make it... and bombing miserably over and over.
