Then it's David Fleming speaking with Barry Manilow about his newest release, Night Songs II, an exploration of The Great American Songbook. They also spoke about his long career and many hits - including a number of jingles for TV comercials.

This KVC-Arts begins with Lillian Vasquez in conversation with comedian, actor, producer and more - Shaun Wayans. Then it's David Fleming speaking with Barry Hansen AKA Dr Demento and Osaka Popstar's John Cafiero about Dr Demento's Covered in Punk. That's a 2 cd set of punk artists covering some Dr Demento Staples, and some Dr Demento artists covering some classic punk!

This edition of KVC-Arts has Emmanuel Rogers in conversation with Lisa Napoli about her book, Ray and Joan: The Man Who Made the McDonald's Fortune and the Woman Who gave it All Away. Beyond Ray and Joan, we hear about the original McDonald brothers, and the site of the original McDonald's, on E street in San Bernardino. We'll also have a brief radio essay from Miles Johnson, talking about rap and hip hop producer, Frank Ocean.

The program begins with David Fleming in conversation with Bob Boilen, creator of The NPR Tiny Desk Concert series. We'll hear about the history of the show, a few behind the scenes moments, and rules for submission for the Tiny Desk Concert Contest. Then we have Lillian Vasquez in conversation with John Tesh. Kenny Vance was one of the founders of Jay and the Americans. Later, he served as music director for Animal House, Eddie and the Cruisers and more - namely though, the first one - American Hot Wax. Kenny also appeared in the movie as Professor La Plano leader of The Planotones. In 1992, Kenny formed the no longer fictitious group, The Planotones and are touring to this day. David Fleming spoke with Kenny on the day of their newest cd, For Your Love.

The show begins with Emmanuel Rogers in conversation with actor Michael O'Neil. He's been on Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, and so much more over the last almost 40 years. He's part of a new series called Counsel of Dads. Later it's Lillian Vasquez speaking with Andre Rieu. He and his Johann Strauss Orchestra have a couple stops in our region soon.
