  • Did you know its good to gossip about your boss? Well, at least according to this study
A researcher at Rutgers says it's *good* to gossip about the person who signs your paycheck.
It's a study in the Journal of Business Ethics. It found that workers who talk behind the boss's back feel a greater sense of belonging with their colleagues.
And that makes them collaborate better, maybe work more productively on projects together.
But... there's always a but... The study shows workers tend to avoid their bosses after gossiping, which could harm productivity.
That guilt will getcha every time. Rutgers professor Rebecca Greenbaum tells the Inquirer a "good boss" is the best scenario, because it leads to a "role modeling effect," where everyone at work treats each other "with more dignity and respect."

  • Bethlehem man convicted of election fraud for voting twice in 2020 election
He cast a ballot in Bucks County. And he voted in Florida.
    You can't do that.
Now this guy might not be able to vote anywhere for a long time.
A federal jury on Wednesday found 32-year-old Matthew Laiss guilty of election fraud.
Prosecutors say he voted for Donald Trump *twice* in 2020, once in person, where he lived in Florida, and again by mail, using his former address in Ottsville, Bucks County.
The Inquirer reports Laiss's lawyers argued he was covered by a blanket pardon issued last year by the President to people who tried to overturn the election.
The Bethlehem man faces up to 5 years in prison when he's sentenced in June.

  • US Supreme Court rules NJ Transit does not have immunity from out-of-state laws
New Jersey Transit is not an arm of the State of New Jersey and does not have immunity from out-of-state lawsuits.
That's the unanimous ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The case was brought by people who say they were hurt by NJT buses in Pennsylvania and New York.
A previous ruling by Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court treated NJT as a state agency, shielding it from lawsuits.
The justices reversed that ruling, noting that NJT is a separate legal entity and, therefore, does not share the state's immunity.
