Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker says the contracts with two groups of city employees were a balancing act between how much she values workers and what the city can afford.

As KYW Newsradio City Hall bureau chief Pat Loeb reports, she won’t have that kind of leeway with the next two contracts.

More than three years after the first Kia challenge video taught TikTok users how to steal South Korean cars using little more than a USB connector, Kia and Hyundai remain at the top of the insurance industry’s list of most-stolen vehicles.

In fact, the top-five favorites of thieves are built by one of those two automakers, even though those carmakers have fixed the hardware issue that made them easy to take.

There are regional differences though, in which cars are likely to be gone in 60 seconds. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most-stolen vehicle in Michigan, the Honda CR-V in New York State, and the Chevy Silverado in Texas.

FBI agents raided two buildings in West Philadelphia connected to a motorcycle group early this morning.

Authorities broke down doors of the “Wheels of Soul” motorcycle club at 61st and Market streets, and searched inside.

It's not clear what they were looking for.

The “Wheels of Soul” was founded in 1967. It is predominantly a Black-riders group which has several chapter groups throughout the country. One of the doors broken in this morning is painted black with white lettering: “Death to KKK.”

The FBI is not providing many details, referring KYW to authorities in Virginia.

Defense attorneys for Sean Higgins want a judge to suppress evidence from trial in the fatal crash that killed hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew last year. KYW South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty tells us prosecutors have issued an argument of their own to keep the evidence admissible.

A federal judge in New Jersey has awarded an $8 million settlement to a Gloucester County woman who accused a man from Philadelphia of stealing nude photos of her and posting them on the internet.
