A Kensington couple said they found their stolen car thanks to multiple AirTags hidden throughout the vehicle.
It was just before 3 a.m. on Friday when Aleks Vasov and his wife, Regina Morozova, told NBC10 they woke up to the sound of their white Dodge Durango being stolen.
Surveillance video shows someone on Jasper Street breaking the back window and climbing inside. Then, a group got out of a different car, joined the person inside the Durango, and drove away.
What the thieves didn't know is that the couple had AirTags in the SUV. They used that to track the car and shared the info with law enforcement.
Police found the car later that morning on A Street in North Philly, about four miles north of where it was stolen. The couple says it was left in bad condition.
No one's been arrested yet. Philadelphia police say they're looking into whether this is connected to other recent car thefts in the area.
