Snowstorms can be very political. New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill is facing her first big, nasty, cold, windy and dangerous storm as governor. Chances are that the former pilot will take care of her 9 million residents, and that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has got it covered for 13 million Pennsylvania citizens. Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer has a million, and less roadways, and Cherelle Parker, the mayor of Philadelphia, demands answers and will not be happy until the smallest streets are cleared.
As KYW Special Contributor Larry Kane tells us, that could take a while. The mayor and all the leaders are well aware that patience for getting snow cleaned up can be very thin. I do have one concern, and that's the financial state of FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It's not into prevention, but actually reaction.
