  • Police investigating after man shot, killed in Wilmington
    A man was shot and killed in Wilmington Wednesday night. Just before 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve, police say a man was shot on the 600 block of West Sixth Street. When officers arrived, they found the man, who was in his 40s, seriously hurt from the gunshot wound.
    They rushed him to the hospital, but he didn't survive. Wilmington police are investigating but have not identified the victim or a suspect.

  • Person in custody following double stabbing on Broad Street Line
    Police have arrested one person in connection with a double stabbing on the Broad Street Line Wednesday afternoon. Officials say two men were stabbed around 4 p.m. Trains skipped the Girard Station northbound for part of New Year's Eve as a result.
    Both men are in stable condition, and police say one person is in custody. Police did not identify the suspect or either of the victims.
    All trains returned to normal later in the evening.

  • Coyote attack reported in Chester County
    The Chester County Health Department says a coyote injured someone last Sunday in Warwick Township, along Warwick Furnace Road.
    It's not clear if the animal bit or scratched the person, but there is a laceration on their skin. It is not known if the animal has rabies. The individual is seeking medical treatment.
    Officials warn the public not to engage or try to catch a coyote.
    The Pennsylvania Game Commission is involved with locating the coyote.

  • Authorities searching for man who allegedly photographed teen girls inside Exton clothing store
    West Whiteland Township Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly took pictures of girls inside a clothing store.
    Police say it happened at Plato's Closet in the Whiteland Towne Center in Exton on Tuesday.
    Surveillance images of the man are being circulated by police in hopes that someone recognizes the individual.
    The man being sought is described as a "person of interest" at this point in the investigation.
    The images can be seen on West Whiteland Police Department's website. Tips can be left anonymously.

  • 74-year-old man found dead in University City bus shelter
    A 74-year-old man was found dead in the bus shelter at the corner of Market Street and Schuylkill Avenue across from 30th Street Station about noon.
    Police say he appears to have been there for about two days.
    It is unclear if the person died as a result of a medical issue or died in the cold.
    The fully-clothed body was found sitting in an upright position inside the bus shelter with several pieces of loose clothing bunched around the body, a blanket over their legs, and what appears to be a travel bag, smaller bags and a cane under the bus shelter bench.
    The body was removed from the shelter after detectives arrived, and began collecting the person's belongings.
