June 28, 2023 EP 332: Laura Leach teaches us the intersections of art, finance, and sustainability
Send us Fan Mail
Laura Leach is a California-born, Parisian-transplant working at the intersection of art and finance. She became a full-on Francophile while studying in Dijon and during a post-grad year teaching English in central France. After that, she knew she wanted to spend the foreseeable future exploring France’s cultural and artistic richness and Europe more broadly. Working in the corporate sector in various industries between Paris and the Silicon Valley ultimately lead her to change course and she recently completed a masters in arts management.
“Learning more about an artist’s practice – whether procedural or organic, linear or seemingly disordered – makes the logistics involved in exhibition mounting driven by a common narrative. For me, this guiding thread, working in service of the careers of artists and increasing public access to the arts so that knowledge and culture are democratized, is the purpose I have been seeking for the past few years. Fascinating to me is the way these different artists and stakeholders join in pursuit of birthing something that is original and that sheds light on matters that are often deeply personal and intimate to the artist’s experience of humanity, society, or themselves.” - Laura Leach

She currently produces exhibitions at Espace Canopy, an associative art gallery in the 18e. Check out their links below!

June 14, 2023 EP 328: Parisian author and poet My name is Michelle Bonfils
Send us Fan Mail
My name is Michelle Bonfils. I'm a multi-passionate creative living in Paris who writes poetry and memoir. For work, I'm a professional organizer, personal support assistant, and thought partner who helps individuals expand their project ideas, streamline their processes, and attain their goals.
My background over the last 15 years has been working in Hollywood supporting performers and producers in all aspects of their creative and operational lives. Writing has always been my first love and after years of performing in venues around Los Angeles, New York City, and Paris, I self-published a collection of poetry called "Live This Feeling" in December 2021. In 2022, my lifelong dream of moving to Paris came true, where I have been lucky to meet and surround myself with like-minded people, create daily, and support others in realizing their projects.

June 07, 2023 EP 326: Jill Colonna: Author and Chef Mad About Macarons
Send us Fan Mail
Over 30 years ago, Jill was totally immersed into the real-deal French life and culture by following her heart to Paris from Scotland. Marrying a Frenchman, working for 10 years in Paris, then raising their 2 French/ girls just outside Paris, food has gradually become a central part of her family’s healthy French lifestyle.
During this time, she perfected the art of making macarons and wrote 2 patisserie recipe books that were published in 2012 and 2015, 'Teatime in Paris’ and the bestselling ‘Mad About Macarons’, the name of the eponymous website.
The website is where she shares the recipes she has learned from the French over the many deliciously fun years. Not just recipes but also French food guides, following her time as pastry tour guide in Paris, via many travels within France with and visiting family, plus passionate about eating well with seasonal fresh fruit and veg from the market.
