Linc and Andrew close the door on what was a busy month of October for everyone.  They discuss road cycling vs. golfing as a weekend morning recreational activity.  For the main focus of the episode, they weighed in on the sexual assault of Kyle Beach including the lack of accountability shown by the Chicago Blackhawks management and leaders and NHL over the past decade.  To wrap up the pod, they discuss the ongoing power struggle involving Edward Rogers and his feud with Raptors President Masai Ujiri (and his past meddling with the Blue Jays).

Linc and Andrew talk about the fallout from the United States and allies hurriedly evacuating from Afghanistan after 20 years with almost nothing to show for it.  They also discuss the return of a large outdoor sporting event in the GTA which brought out all the fans -- and apparently some haters as well!

In the first live recording of the year,  Linc describes life with a newborn the second time around, after welcoming another mini lad into this world.  He and Drew wrap up the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games, Team Canada’s performance, and reminisce about the track and field events of their elementary school days. On the heels of the Cleveland MLB team renaming, they debate the use of indigenous symbols for sports teams and talk about cancel culture in wider society.  Lastly, they briefly touch on privacy concerns regarding Apple’s future software update and think of as many “CP” euphemisms as they can.

“It’s only game. Why you heff to be mad?” - Ilya Bryzgalov

In this episode, Linc and Andrew discuss how fans, the media, and sports organizations are treating athletes and the effects on their mental health.  Naomi Osaka withdrawing from The French Open and Mitch Marner after this year’s edition of the Leafs collapse are prominent examples.  The lads also debate the John Cena apology to China for calling Taiwan a country while promoting the newest Fast & Furious movie.  Should we expect more or less from celebrities when it comes to social and geopolitical issues, especially when their livelihood is impacted?

In this episode, Linc and Andrew are joined by recurring guest Paul (aka Pauly Monopoly) to discuss the financial implications of the pandemic/lockdown, the importance side hustles and goals, optimizing passive income through real estate investment and tax strategies (e.g. Smith Maneuver), stock market options trading and strategy, and how to become “time rich” and not “time poor”.

The lads had a few technical glitches in this episode and hope to work it out with their recording provider for the next episode.

In this episode, Linc and Andrew talk about the ongoing news regarding the pandemic lockdown and vaccination efforts, including the measure taken locally and the ongoing crisis in India. In “Things I don’t understand”, the lads take aim at one of life’s guarantees: taxes; on the eve of the filing deadline. Lastly, they respond to comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan’s dangerous beliefs that young people shouldn’t get the vaccine and address vaccine hesitancy in general.

In this week’s “Things I don’t understand” segment, Linc and Drew explore this simple question: Why would anyone want to live downtown when all the stores, restaurants, and entertainment are closed? They then dive into a discussion on the recent wave of anti-Asian hate crimes and why they seem like they are not being condemned with the same vigor as other hate crimes, especially socially vocal celebrities like LeBron James.

This time the robbers are inside the house jacking up the price so you can’t  buy it...

Captain Ahab (Linc) finally landed his white whale (Justin a.k.a. JC).  Together with Drew, they have an engaging conversation about the insanity of the GTA real estate market: skyrocketing prices, bidding wars, and those pesky agents.  They also discuss the risks and rewards on the proposal for some 7-11 convenience stores to sell and serve beer for consumption on site.

Linc and Andrew reunite with their friend Steve (Episode 003) to shoot the breeze on a variety of topics including Steve’s lack of sleep, the top hockey centres of all time, NBA players’ rights versus team management, corporate Diversity and Inclusion efforts (including Black History Month), and some things in life they do not understand.  Andrew’s laptop battery died early in the recording but I’m pretty sure it’s because of solar and wind energy being unreliable.
