Most of the human race is living on fumes; believers in Christ Jesus are living on facts.

Life for most is anchored in dead hopes; in Christ our lives are anchored in a living hope. Take your pick!

It has been rightly concluded that Jesus was either Lord, liar or lunatic. Three options but the last two simply won’t fly. So, where does that leave the person who won’t buy? Living a lie as he cues up to die and to meet the One whom he blindly denies.

It is easy to praise God when life is a bowl of cherries; the test of a faithful heart is when life is a dish of bitter herbs.

Our mission in life is to fight for Christ, not to waste time fretting in Christ. In an unjust world where often the wicked seem to flourish and the godly sometimes to flounder, we must learn to cool our jets, chill out and wait on God to set things right.

“People have a vision problem, when it comes to Jesus. In this life, we may never be able to see him with true clarity. It may even take all eternity to fully plumb the depths of the wonder that is the Son of God, and his relationship to us and the Father. None who wait on the Lord will ever need to fall on their sword in shame.

The life of us sheep can be hard, but never the heart of our Shepherd. As Spurgeon said, we may not always understand His hand, but we do know His heart. Because we know Him, we follow Him.

Jesus is exactly like my wife; He tolerates no rivals.
