Laker Film Room - Dedicated to the Study of Lakers Basketball

The Lakers 2026-27 schedule is here, and Pete and Darius dive into it all, highlighting what stands out most to them, why the first 10 games can be meaningful, what stretches concern them the most, and much more. And then later, the guys pay tribute to former NBA coach and player Don Nelson after his recent passing.

New reporting on the Lakers shockingly changing hands for the second time in 14 months offers insight into the possible reasons Mark Walter is selling so quickly and what a Bob Iger/Josh Kushner ownership structure might look like. Pete and Darius dive into both topics, focusing on Iger’s positioning as the likely face of the new ownership group, his history as a leader in business and entertainment, how his relationships with and around the NBA could shape his approach as a leader, and what it could all mean for JJ Redick, Rob Pelinka, the fans, and the Lakers more broadly.
