Sweet enough, worth the time

Sweet enough - arsehole meet fully realised human and they fall in love. Grannies in old homes, homophobic employers etc - got most of what you need.

Fantastic Book!

Would you consider the audio edition of Memories of the Heart to be better than the print version?

I read the print version first and it was a fantastic read. You really fall for both Micah and Josh. I love listening to the audio because I can really feel these loveable characters come to life. Personal choice, I really enjoyed the book and the audio.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I finished this audio in one day. I love the story line and with Sean Crisden narrating it because a must listen.

Sappy but great story and awesome narration

Micah is a big ol jerk. Hes self centered. Condescending. Job obsessed. Ruthless. Doesnt believe in love. And he forgets to visit his sweet old grandmother in the nursing home!

Josh is perfect. Hes sweet. Kind. Loyal. Believes in true love. And he visits his grandma every day.

Joshs grandma, Ethel and Micahs grandma, Ruth are friends at the same home. Ethel sends a letter to Micah scolding him for how hes treating Ruth. This makes Micah so mad he immediately runs down to the home to set her straight but while there he also runs into the snotty barista he met that morning on his way to work (Josh)! Josh and Micah strike sparks off one another right away. Since Micah was an ass to Josh, Josh believes nothing but bad things about him. Micah believes Josh is a free-loader trying to get the better of his sweet grandmother for her money.

Well, as it turns out, Josh is a lawyer who left his practice when his partner at work (and in life) dumps him for another man. Josh decided his family was more important and he looks to start over in NYC.

Great MMA Rags to Riches Story

Man... this was a great book...

First and foremost... I hate dual narration... ergh!!! Why o why can't dual narration be girl read girl and guy read guy parts simultaneously!!! You have to keep adjusting to how the characters sound from the guys POV then the girls POV... ergh!!!

Anyway... my narration hiccups aside... this book was so good... This was my first Aly Martinez book.. and it won't be my last...

Till and Eliza are so cute... best friends to lovers... back to friends, then family, then lovers! Whew... what a ride... The love story was kinda a sidebar to all the action and drama from Till's and Eliza's daily life. Then the whole going deaf thing...OMG! Tear drop!!

The ending was really good...but I feel like it just ended... so there has to be a second book... and it better be one of Till's brother's book... the side characters were so 3-deminsional... I feel like I know them so well... and I miss them a bit now the book is over...

Young fight for love!

This audiobook was so very enjoyable! I loved the characters of Eliza, Till, Flint and Quarry. The hero and heroine have loved each other since they were young teens and depend on each other to make it through the poverty of life, challenges of bad parenting and trying to make it in the world. At 17, Till becomes involved with a local gym owned by a former heavyweight boxing champion, while he is going deaf due to a genetic trait. He starts training and becomes very good at it, but is afraid to take the relationship with Eliza further because he doesnt want to lose his best friend. Through the journey toward becoming a professional boxer and growing into adult love the author gives us a heartwarming story. Narration was well done as well.

Love it

My first book by this author and I just loved this story, both narrators did an outstanding job.

Loved Carson Beck`s voice, perfect for narrating audiobooks.

There were so many funny one liners in this book that a few times I got jolted out of the book cocoon with a loud laughter. An enjoyable read. Not one to entangle you in it and drag you under but a light read. A heroine that goes after what she wants and a hero who is so irresistibly hot and heartbroken that he never wants to get caught and let go of his bachelor days and yet can't avoid this love. So purchase if you like a light and uncomplicated book that will entertain you but not own you.

A FUN & FLIRTY LOVE STORY BUT SADLY ONLY A NOVELLA

Poor David, named the Gentleman of Rock and the Drummer of the band Schoolboy Choir, had it bad for their Publicity Agent Thea and, after months of longing, fantasising and drooling over her, he finally plucks up the courage and asks her out. Oh, he could get groupies and have lots of meaningless sex with faceless strangers like his other Band members but his heart and body only wanted Thea. Unfortunately Thea had been emotionally burned by her ex, didn't want to date Musicians or mix business with pleasure and so said no even though she felt a strong attraction to David.

He went away crushed but months later he heard a bit of good advice which put him back on course to win over the cold and prickly Thea and so, through heartfelt memos, texts and sexy phone calls he finally broke through Thea's defenses and got his chance to show her that he was a one woman kinda man. But it wasn't all plain sailing as a shocking claim left everyone reeling and tempers flared, emotions spiked and a phone hit the wall. However, these two lovers were sensible, respected one other, had faith and trust in each other and had great sexual chemistry too, so they tackled the threat together...... and it won them the HEA they both craved.

Worth a credit? I did wonder and hesitate about that because it was such a short listen but, as I'm a fan of both Nalini Singh and this series, I didn't doubt for long and spent the credit and I'm so glad I did. David was a sweetheart, thoughtful, tender, loyal, genuine, sexy and showed Thea, in romantic words and deeds and in his passionate lovemaking, that he was head over heels for her..... so Thea took a leap of faith for the chance to love David. Dual POV's, a well written sweet love story and a good narrator definitely made this a creditworthy listen.

An audio performance that enhances a great story

What made the experience of listening to Rock Courtship the most enjoyable?

It is a great performance of an interesting book. While it includes many typical rock star story steamy scenes, it also includes multi-dimensional characters and lots of interaction between all the characters. The other guys in the band are virtually brothers. Both Thea and David have families we get to know and that show they really care about each other. Plus this was a slow burn romance, very rare for a rock star romance.

Diminishing returns

Each of these sisters has less common sense than the one who came before her. It's amazing that the two younger sisters made it to adulthood. This book drove me nuts because Allegra seemed too dim to have accomplished what she had professionally. And I liked Finn a lot and wanted better for him. I couldn't get through this whole book. I like this author's political romantic suspense books much better than this series, which I'm giving up on.

Another Great Story

Love the Power books! Fashioned for power did not disappoint! Shirley is my FAVORITE character. The love story was great and the suspense killed me! I thought it was Jasper but I was surprised. Can't wait to read the next one.

Finally, Amy McFadden is the best story teller ever!!!!!

I was worried for no reason. I thought for sure this was going to be full of secrets and angst but it wasnt. The same wonderful family, always ready to jump in and help each other. I dont believe Ive ever read a series of books where every family member was as nice and strong as this group.

Allegra came a long way since the first book. Always so nice and calm, to where she fought the bad guy like a tiger. It was Mallery who took him out but Allegra did some serious damage to him before Mallery, Finn and Terrell came in to save her and Shirley.

The usually crew were here: Margaret, Elle, Drake, Bree and Logan, etc. And I do enjoy them all.

The bad guy was sure a whack-job, and left behind a whole slew of victims. He really did get what he deserved.

As usual, Ms. Brooks doesnt write any kind of sexual tension, no desire, no thoughts, no wanting, no sexual frustration, no nothing, but she does write a good bedroom scene.

As to the narrator: I happen to adore Amy McFadden. She keeps me thoroughly entertained while she reads. The women all have different voices and the men sound alike but as long as they sound like men I really don't care.

Once again Daniel sets up a couple in a very round about way. Even though the family knows of his meddling ways it takes them a while to see it happening to them.

Love this series

I read this series years & years ago. I am glad I had the opportunity to listen to it now. With that being said, I won't listen again. For the most part I can listen to this narrator, but she is why I won't listen again. I knew I liked the series so I tolerated the narrator. Many have already commented on her lisp which I mostly noticed when she did the Scottish accent. The longer I listened the more it bothered me. And her New Orleans accent with Matthew in this book was terrible.

I'll be returning this series based on the narrator.

Loved yet another Nora Roberts book

I love so many of her books and this is yet another 5 star story and performance. At least I still have a few more to enjoy.

Story ok, Narrator Awful! Just Awful!

This is one of Nora's early books and thank goodness she's gotten better. This book is one-step away from a young reader book. The female lead is 24 and sounds and acts like she is 16 with little to no life experience. She's the type of person you might like in college and doesn't change after college so you avoid her.

The narrator talks way too fast. It's as if she's has a limited amount of time to reading the script. No conversational tone just spewing out the words at warp speed in this Pollyanna, bright sunny, meet me in St. Louis kind of tone. The male character tone is fine but it was just too much. Luckily, I didn't use a credit on this book and it unfortunately cost $5. The sample was of the male lead talking because if it was the female talking I would have never purchased it.

The narrator ruined a ho-hum book and made it awful. I will never listen to Angela Dawe read anything if she hasn't improved past this type of reading.

this book is one of the best books I have read in some time. it goes into detail it describes the place and the events and the city that makes you want to go there put you in the book itself is so well-written thank you Nora Roberts thank you so much.

THEY NEVER GAVE UP TIL THEY GOT THEIR HEA ENDING

Ella and Porter have faced so many hardships, challenges and heartbreaks in the previous books you think finally, now that they are married, all the hardships, challenges and heartbreaks are surely a thing of the past. So they bask in their hard won together time with lots of sex, tender words and loving touches and look forward to being a family. But unfortunately, in this very tender but equally very traumatic story, their joy at finally being parents are very quickly torn from them when they have to face maybe the biggest challenge of them all.

Porter is always so amazing, so loving, so supportive and so sexy you just want to melt and Ella is sweet, equally loving, caring and has such character growth in this listen you can't help but feel proud of her. You really feel the close bond between the secondary characters and their families too. There's also more drama caused by the capture, imprisonment and eventual trial of the mystery shooter.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, great narration (especially from the sexy voice of Nelson Hobbs) and finally their long awaited HEA..... every book was worth the credit and, if you haven't yet started on their emotion filled, heartbreaking, beautiful and very romantic journey, all I can say is you lucky lucky listener because you'll get to hear their love story without the annoying months of breaks in between.

This book was the perfect ending. Such a sweet story with a great amount of suspense and twists. Loved it!

A great triogy.

I enjoyed the third book of this triogy as much as the first two books. The story was a good balance of romance and mystery. The performances were excellent.

To close to home!

This book was hard to listen to be to the nature of the sick baby...Not only because nobody wants to hear the sadden story but cuz my son at 3 days old have an infection in his blood...and was hospitalized 10 days. And, I being a very young single mom went threw all that...The emotions are truly there and told with such truth it took me back to those horrible days...

But truly a great story!
