A perfect postscript to Cole and Christy's HEA

Cole and Christy are living their HEA, and dealing with small road bumps along the way relating to their relationships with their mothers.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

Cole is one of my favoritest dirty talkers ever: Oh Cole. The man has a way with the dirty words that makes me fluttery. Heâs just as gruff, cranky yet loving and completely devoted to Christy as I remember.

Christy doesnât backslide: Sheâs struggled with her weight, and this novella just reinforces the strength of will that Christy has. Her mother Martha is as horrible as ever, but itâs great to see Christy handle her business.

A love note for nerds: Part of Christyâs appeal for me is her inner/outer nerd. Itâs on full display here and the finaleâs a fun postscript to their love story.

Novella length: very quick and satisfying read for fans of Heavy Issues. Which meansâ

Not a standalone: It really is a continuation of their story and you need to have at least a cursory knowledge of their romance. You also get a glimpse of Coleâs brothers and their women, which is lovely.

The Bottom Line

So, so good. Makes me want to re-read Heavy Issues (which I would read first before this book). Definitely recommend.

Great Follow Up!

Great follow up on past characters. I enjoy novella's that follow up on the HEA from past characters. Christy is now dealing with her mom who is not a very nice lady. Cole of course is still dealing with past issues. These two needed this story to get past those issues they both were feeling. Now on to their HEA

As usual, Elle delivers! Can't go wrong with her books. I liked Heavy Issues more but this one was still very good.

Heavy Secrets, Indeed!

Oh, my goodness! Loved this book so much! It is vintage Elle Aycart! She keeps us updated on all the other characters that we care about but is true to each couple's storyline! Elle is a mad genius with how she keeps you engaged! Christy and Cole continue their romance with all their ups and downs! I highly recommend this book!

I adore Elle Aycart's writing and I always want more of the Bowens. Heavy Secrets was fantastic. I missed Cole & Christy and I was happy to read about the other Bowen's too.

Not as expected

Based on reviews I got all the books in this series. Unfortunately for me I was not so impressed with this series. It did not grab me as I expected it to do. To me it's just an average series. I wish I'd used my credits on other more stimulating books.

cliff hanger

first off this 28 year old woman acts like she's 16 and is extremely childish and rather stupid for someone who has gone to college. but on top of that this is a cliff hanger book not worth the credit or the money.

narration .... oh my

I couldn't listen to more than 10 mins of it... the narration is horrid. I don't think it's the writing... I think the narrator is thinking of a telephone book the entire time.

Unforgettable love

I Really enjoyed this book. I can't wait to read more! Good girl gets involved with a man who is mean and manipulating all those around her, including the police.

Marriage of Convenience~ HIS~ 3 Stars ~OK....

PLOT: Rome Mathews lost his wife Diana and sons in horrific accident. He seems incapable of showing love or affection. The lovely Sarah was best friends to Diana but held her feelings about Rome to herself. She loves him. When passion flares Rome proposes a marriage of convenience HIS.

Rome is a remote and distant man resulting from the death of his family. His sex appeal is there but he lacks warmth. Lovely Blonde Sarah responds to a moment of passion and Rome found out too late she WAS a virgin. He proposes marriage......plenty of hot passionate SEX. but he will not sleep in her bed and NO children is his "offer". Sarah is desperate for him and accepts this very one sided marriage offer. An unplanned Baby is added to the story and Sarah must make a decision of the choice between her child or husband Rome. ***The story is worth the wait for the end. **

This is a SAD plot. The story is a good but not what we 'except' from Linda Howard. The hero is not likeable and the heroine is a "door mat'. This is VERY early novel by Howard. This story IS worth the listen for the ending. But we find we have to over come our dislike of the hero most of the novel. I give the Story 3 stars~ and Amy Landon the reader 4 STARS~ she did a very good job. Over all 3 stars~ clearly not Howards best book.

One more thought what is with the AWEFUL cover artwork on this audiobook? Sarah was a white blonde beauty. This shows a overly made up brunette. JUST put a hunky guy on it next time Dreamscape. also try Loving Evangeline soon to be released by Dreamscape Media.

A bit painful

The story is well written, just the stuff Sarah puts up with is just painful to hear and experience. I don't know if she is really strong or really pitiful. Rome is not a likable guy, he's not even described as cute, I had a hard time figuring out why she is so in love with this guy. His story is terrible and heartbreaking, but just couldn't find what she saw in him.

If you could sum up Sarah's Child in three words, what would they be?

I really enjoyed this book. Very emotional love story. Alpha male but he's not a jerk.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would give the female lead a little more fire. I'm OK with dislikable characters. That's part of life, people are imperfect, sometimes painfully so. However, I agree with other reviewers who felt the male lead was hard to get into. I really had a problem with the female lead who almost never got upset enough to shut all that was happening down and give dude a reality check.

THIS ROSEMARY BEACH SERIES HAS ME HOOKED

The Rosemary Beach series is undoubtedly one of my favorites that I never expected to be a favorite, but here I am A HUGE FAN. In a nutshell, Abbi Glines really gets it, she just totally knows how to create characters that you root for and want to know. This series is one that sneaks up on you and all of the sudden you're completely immersed in a world of twenty-somethings and their tragic pasts and hopeful romantic futures. The Best Goodbye is several stories into the series, so you should at least listen to When You're Back for context. All in all, this series is totally credit worthy and a must-listen.

Great! (Read prior books to really appreciate)

I love this series. I've listened to the entire Rosemary Beach Series via Audible and have thoroughly enjoyed it, and actually need to catch up my reviews on all the books. The latest novel, The Best Goodbye, is River "Captain" Kipling's story. If you are familiar with the series, Captain is Blaire's brother, and we've gotten to know him in several of the previous novels. He was a bit of an enigma, but When Your're Back (Rosemary Beach #12 - Mace and Reese's story) gave you a little glimpse into Captain's background, and made me really excited about diving into his story.

River didn't have an easy childhood and when he lost someone he dearly loved, he struck out on his own, as a teenager, leaving everything behind, even his identity. What took place in the years that followed made him into the man he is now known as...."Captain." He's back in Rosemary Beach, eager to leave his past behind once again, and is planning on doing just that after he finishes getting a new Restaurant off the ground, a task which is turning into a pain in his a**, especially with having to juggle his head server, Elle, and her misconceptions about their so-called relationship around. Then there is Rose......and there is something about Rose that infuriates him and makes him want to devour her in the same breath.

Rose Henderson's reason for being in Rosemary Beach goes far deeper than just being a waitress at the new Resort there. In fact, she's on a mission.....one which involves River "Captain" Kipling.......a mission that could change Captain/River's life as he knows it forever. As the details of who Rose really is and why she is there gradually unfold, to say things get intense is to put it mildly. Past, present, and future collide as a life that was merges with a life that is, and a possible life that could be is held in the balance, teetering precariously on decisions, actions, trust, and truth.

I loved the characters in the book and I loved watching Captain's character evolve into a man that dreams are made of. I don't want to say too much about Rose, because who she is and why she is there are the heart of the story. I will say that The Best Goodbye was sexy, romantic, dangerous, intense, and it ended beautifully.

Loved every minute!

This is a brilliantly written roller coaster ride! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I tried a few different books and was so bored after mere moments I couldn't bare to listen to anymore, until Friction. The narrators are superb.

I love that the book included gripping drama, intelligent dialogue, intrigue and the characters were deep and emotionally complex. Finally the sex, oh my...if you have issues with a lagging libido, after this page turner it will not be an issue anymore! The main male character is a good guy all along and finally decides to let it show after realizing he will lose his true love unless he changes.

I highly recommend this book, Sawyer Bennett knocked it out of the park!

Loved this Book!!!

Almost didn't get this book because of a bad review i read. Glad I went with my gut. Great storyline about a lady lawyer who knows what she wants and doesn't let anything stand in her way. the man she goes after is incredibly alpha and doesn't take long to figure out he has met his match. hot, steamy love erupts, but book never loses the storyline. was really well written and the narrators were spot on. loved the duel narration. made for many a dreamy nights. very credit worthy or even a buy.

So enjoyable!!

What a great surprise. Lived up to my high expectations. Very enjoyable and strong story. Had me engrossed. Will try more Sawyer Bennett titles.

Sebastian York is one of my favvvvv narrators so he made it even better. It was a bit predictable but was still a good listen. worth the credit.

Good legal romance

This audiobook was entertaining, about a sharp female lawyer who fights for the underdog and a male lawyer who works for a firm that is in it for the money. They meet in court over a case of malpractice and are instantly hot for each other. There are ethical concerns about them seeing each other, but that doesn't stop them. That is, until he does something during the trial that makes her heart break. Now he just has to do the right thing. Great narration!

Should of been read solely by the female narrator

I struggled with even finishing this book because the male voice as any of the women ( Amanda, Lucy etc.) was more annoying than nails on a chalkboard. I'm not sure how we we are supposed to believe that Amanda as a female ( a sexy confident valley girl) the same as the Amanda in the stupid male voice ( a whispering stocatto type ) couldn't be more different. This caused me to be unable to engage in the overall story . Don't even get me started on the strange accent he used to sp

Also, in the first book it clearly explains why Jake is the only one in his family that has an Australian accent but in this book his whole family suddenly has one? Are we supposed to be idiots?

Not what I expected...

After the first book I had high expectations for this one but I was a bit disappointed. The back and forth between past and present in the beginning was confusing to me. And I know this is petty but the first book said Jake's family didn't have an accent yet in this book they did.

More of a Good Thing

Humorous, joyful, sad, inspiring... the story is all these things and more. Much of it is McLean's signature angst, there's ultimately perfection.

There were moments when characters without a previous accent suddenly developed one in this book. The male narrative wasn't without mistakes. Loved the female narrator.

If I could I'd choke the leading guy in this book!

I understand Logan's reasoning, but he should talk too Amanda before making snap decisions. That's all I'm saying!

Amazing book in print & audio

I have read this book no less than 4 times and now hearing the audio, I'm they much more in love. Jay McLean has this amazing gift of adding the perfect amount of everything into her books. It's funny, it's sad, it's joyful, it's inspiring, it's sexy, it's torture but most of all, it's perfect.

Charles and Tatiana did a great job narrating and putting voices to these characters that I love. Worth the credit or the money, hands down.

Really enjoyed this series

Listened to all three stories in the Audible format. It only took me a week to finish all three because the stories were so engaging I wanted to know what happened next. Tanya Eby does an excellent job of bringing even the minor characters to life and giving each one a distinct voice.

Love this Series and Writer!!!!

I loved everything about this book from start to finish. If you like romantic comedy start with book one and proceed through the series. Have already downloaded book four and cant wait to listen to it. Also enjoyed the voice of the book. She did a fantastic job of relaying the story and depth of the characters.

Not necessarily. I enjoyed reading the audio edition because it allows me to do many things (exercise, cook, housework) while I am enjoying the book I want.

I truly enjoy all of Gretchen Galway's books. They are funny, pleasant, with wonderful characters and loads of romance. This book is no exception. This novel is a stand alone and there are no cliffhangers which is the way I like it. I must admit that enjoyed the glimpses in the lives of April's big brothers: Liam and Mark. They are the protagonists of two previous books. It is not necessary to read them in order to get to this book but they are so worth reading nonetheless. Not quite right was really funny and it had some interesting twists. Even though April faces various difficulties she doesn't cower and she fights right back when necessary. She is little crazy and a lot lovable. I also enjoyed Zack who is a kind, serious and yet sexy character. Loved their match!

Desperately need a new narrator. Macie's voice does not, in my opinion, suit this type of novel.
