Publisher's Summary:
Bidding on Brooks is the first of four books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly handsome Winslow brothers who are all on the lookout for love.
(Except Preston. He's been down that road before and still has the scars to prove it. And maybe Cameron, because he's super-hot, but too hot-headed to be decent boyfriend material.)
Railroaded into a bachelor auction by his sister, Jessica, Brooks Winslow asks his friend, Skye Sorenson, to bid on him to avoid the possibility of any romantic entanglements. Fiercely competitive and protective of those he cares for, Brooks was profoundly affected by the loss of his father at an early age. A witness to his mother's terrible loneliness and his siblings' grief, the ex-Olympian has never allowed himself to fall in love.
Skye Sorenson, the plucky mechanic at Sorenson Marina, where Brooks moors his three sailboats, is a credible sailor in her own right...and has quietly lusted after Brooks for years. But her longstanding friendship with Brooks has always made romance seem impossible.
When Skye agrees to bid on Brooks, the two cast off for a weeklong ocean adventure on Brooks' sailboat, The Zephyr, where the last thing Skye expects to lose is her heart.

Very disappointed in this book!
I had enjoyed the three books about the English brothers, and because of that I was looking forward to this book. However, this book was a major disappointment. My largest issue with this book was the female character. She was annoying and very self righteous, to say the least. The narrator, who I have liked before, made the female character seem even weaker. The plot was weak. The relationship between the characters had NO sizzle! Not sure I will purchase more books in this series.
Sex as filler is boring
If you could sum up Bidding on Brooks: The Winslow Brothers #1 in three words, what would they be?
Good character development, satisfactory plot, too many sex scenes.
Would you be willing to try another book from Katy Regnery? Why or why not?
This author uses sex scenes as filler. I am bored reading over and over again about the sexual activity of the characters. A little goes a long way, and I am tired of writers who try to write longer books by inserting more and more bedroom scenes. Like anything else, too much just drags the book out. Two or three per book is adequate.
What about Lauren Sweets performance did you like?
The narrator did a wonderful job. She doesn't read the dialogue tags in the same voice as the dialogue so you know when the speaker stops speaking. Her pacing is excellent, and her voice is a pleasure to listen to. I look forward to listening to other books with this narrator.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was particularly moved by the slimmy magazine writer/photographer. He was such a pleasure to hate!
Any additional comments?
I would encourage the author to continue to write interesting plots with conflicted characters, but with far less description of bedroom activities. Too much description of anything is to be avoided.
I couldn't even finish it :(
They fall in love to easily and even tho the 'struggle' is common it just doesn't seem real. the readers voice is no good for men's voices and I found her aggravating.
