S02e21 gets personal yall! The episode opens with Mike sharing an opportunity for growth before he and Jay discuss processes in music since going solo and sober and Kanye’s latest musical offerings. They talk instruments, personas and why one might want one before Jay shares what rehab might teach him and trusting the process. They talk melancholy and then mental health and Jay’s process in addressing his before hitting Top of the Hour and answering some questions. Mike gives us some insight into what makes him sad, they talk things taking tolls, and Mike draws a pretty great analogy as to Jay’s reticence on social media. Jay hatches a bad plan for meeting girls in his building before sharing that he’s back with his lady oops and they workshop a podcast host to replace Akil. To close out they discuss Usher, Mike calls Jay out for being judgmental and they talk getting caught out there on twitter.
In s02e20 Mike is joined by Markings, rapper / Artbeat and Loop Sessions affiliate, as co-host as they welcome J.u.D., Montreal DJ / producer / graphic designer / radio host, to the podcast. Things kick off with talk of Rico Nasty and reversal of gender roles, modern dating and dating pros before Mike reveals that he cried all morning, J.u.D. reveals that he’s on a streak of a certain kind and Markings reveals his nightmare. The gang talks just being honest when pursuing sex and how to use lucid dreaming for bad and then top 3s in various mediums. They play Top of the Hour (!) and discuss energy drinks, dream beefs in the Montreal scene, the inner-workings and inner-bias of the local music industry and who gets a seat at the rap table.They talk homebodyness before Mike shits on art again and everyone bemoans quebec’s messed up relationship with black music. J.u.D. gives us some insight into the early days of Alaiz, a local music collective from a few years back, and they talk music distribution outlets, bring back “Fuck it Pick a Record!” from season 1 and then discuss the possible maybe probable re-emergence of the New York rap sound. They close out on maturity’s role in modern matrimony, what streams mean fr fr and what lies ahead for the internet before J.u.D. unveils his self-portrait for our collective enjoyment. Episode 19, Rehabitation, kicks off with talk of the virtues of country living and then the virtues of escaping it when it’s trying to kill you. Mike and Jay talk actors-cum-musicians and vice versa, men’s accoutrements for anti-ageing and the double-standard when it comes to men and women getting older. They talk Dutch atrocities, whether Jay being an awful fisherman = failed masculinity and baseball cards before Top of the Hour kicks in and they get serious about R Kelly and personal issues. Jay gives us a lil rundown of what he’s got going on, they talk Boogie Cousin’s controversial decision and Mike brings in Marc Maron to support his disdain for kiddie culture. Mike and Jay get real-ish about addiction and what lies beneath, talk right-wing warriors, keeping sex stuff out of the studio and then just sex stuff. To close out, Mike makes the distinction between intelligence and education and gives sage advice regarding change. Laaaasers!
Episode 18 is a clips episode gathering unheard snippets from episodes 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12, most of which feature guests from this season who we just can’t let go. It opens with Mike and Jay talking Jimmy Fallon, history and a depression blog before we get more in depth with a travel story from the Don’t Be Mad dudes, the Lasers explain why they wouldn’t rent the studio out for a certain sexual soiree and everyone discusses basketball. Moving on we hear the Lasers and Up for Discussion hosts discuss Epic Meal Time’s prime, what loons are and how to tell a good church from an ok one. Mike and Jay discuss weed strains and prices, the up and coming weed industry and how to deal with drug freak outs (you’re welcome kids). The Lasers and Don’t Be Mad dudes discuss why the Raptors can’t face Lebron and the problems with the Toronto roster (Demar Derozen is a bum) before the Lasers and Up for Discussion talk/laugh racehorse names and then sitcoms, more specifically Frasier. Next up, Son Raw details why Beyonce leaving Jay Z would have been good for the culture before Mike asks Son Raw and Jay why no one cared about Kelis’ abuse allegations against Nas and they talk abuse in entertainment as a whole. Finally, Nick Brutus Grass talks why twitter fights >>> facebook ones, Canadian culture being at an all time high and his ideas as to why Kanye is being a dick.
17 is a special lil joint that pieces together some unearthed conversations from previous episodes Nay (s02e07) and Cherubian Offerings (s02e08). It kicks off with KC questioning whether he can make reggae being Trinidadian and Jay and Mike getting scientific about colour. They talk animal feats including dance battles and scouts including their cookies. Art rears its ugly head and Mike and Jay further discuss its relevance before talking animals again. Mike and Jay talk Craig Mack and Bad Boy Records going God before Mike Jay and KC discuss a friend who’s seminaring on landing ladies. Mike and Jay talk doing the most on an island, Jay examines getting older and everyone examines what’s going on with M.O.P. and then Juvenile. They discuss pros and cons of co-ops, come up with old promoter names, talk Groove Theory’s chances in the current climate and why Juicy J can’t lose. Lasers!
Welcome to episode mother frigging 16! This episode features Imaan Browne, founder and owner of lifestyle clothing brand Pure Luck X out of Montreal. They start off with talk of the brand and where Imaan wants to take it before discussing Michael Jackson the phenom and then Michael Jackson the damaged man. Imaan and Mike broach the evolution of 90s fashion and streetwear and then discuss the nightmare that is making music lol. They talk influence, Prince over Michael or vice versa and icons living or vice versa and then hit Top of the Hour and get deeeeeep. Imaan talks returning to the art, Mike by accident predicts Joe Jackson’s death and Imaan talks straight edge plus cheese life. Any smooth chunes you hear while enjoying the episode you can thank him for. It kicks off with the Lasers running through some topic ideas before discussing penises at war and Jay’s black out. Everyone realizes that they have a guru, who they then pit against the other gurus in a spiritual freestyle battle over beats and KOLA shares his journey to positivity while Jay shares his journey to a possible but unlikely marketing gig. They cover Top of the Hour and answer deep stuff before weighing the pros and cons of working on the ocean and talking the relevance of the past to the present. Mike swears he has issues, Jay talks removing himself from a party and KOLA talks being a popular Montreal busker - good, bad and ugly. To close out the Lasers discuss the toll of emotional exhaustion and Jay tells a weird story about a dep-spute (dispute at a dep*) before KOLA performs a song. Lasers!

Episode 14 kicks off with a return to some of the issues that the Lasers started unraveling in episode 13, namely Jay’s relationship stuff. They play a lil association game that is to games what peels are to bananas and then delve deeper into the drama surrounding Jay’s life. They explore pretty gnarly penis hole stories, Mike makes a bit of a personal revelation :0 and they pontificate on Madonna’s pp (private parts). They make light of Jay’s circumstances while Jay hopes he hasn’t overshared before they talk about the podcast’s direction and Jay’s options. Conversation kicks off with talk of North vs South Carolina before the Lasers make Nick draw a self portrait and they get esoteric about art and life. Nick talks discovering new music and his passion for that stuff, ranks his best qualities and then breaks down some theories for the Lasers. They discuss emerging Canadian talent and the senseless attack levied against IX Daily before hitting “Top of the Hour” for some in-depth - trivia, is it? They play “Weird or Wavy” where they qualify increasingly bizarre things/concepts as either weird or wavy and Mike talks about his new fern while Jay makes a hose/hoes joke. They discuss ASMR videos and explore the pickle lady’s oeuvre and youtube therapy before Nick gives some insight into his career path thus far and his vision for his platform and self.
