You hear the voice in your head again: If only you had the courage to say what you felt inside. If only you had given a hard “no” to that unnecessary request. If only you had confronted the employee who was letting the team down.
These “if only” moments can show up as a clench in your gut or a lump in your throat and are at the heart of why 85% of people die with a significant regret in their life.
This is not the life you want to live. In this episode we describe what it means to be a Last 8%er and how it can help you move beyond 'If Only' moments.

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Devil and Miss Prym

We often get caught in our thinking – hooked by the steady stream of emotions we experience and story’s that follow those emotions.
Does it matter that we hooked?
Beyond the fact that it is does not feel good to experience some of these emotions and thoughts in the moment, and if we are able to not let these emotions and stories seep out to impact others, does it matter that we experience these emotions and thoughts?
In today’s episode, we explore the neuroplasticity of thought and why it is one of the more powerful reasons why we practice.

It is almost like clockwork: I finish a keynote and one of the first questions I get asked is: but what if the other person is not open to having a difficult conversation, or as we call it, a Last 8% conversation? What can we do in this case?
In other words, what do we do when it feels like we are facing a challenging situation with someone, we want to give them important feedback, for example, but this person has no interest in dealing with the issue and talking about it? It can feel like we have no control over the situation and it can leave us feeling helpless.
This is the topic of today’s episode.

Creating a great team or organization (or family) requires doing difficult things, entering into the Last 8%. It's a place where we can face conflict and challenge, where conversations, decisions or relationships may get difficult.
When most people think of Last 8%, they immediately see a threat, crisis, or something negative. And they reflexively avoid.
Today, we talk about how we can see our Last 8% differently. As an opportunity and as something that is happening for us as opposed to something that happening to us.
