Last One To The Party

Rollins Eason is a big fan of Steven Universe (the TV series), Steven Universe: The Movie, and Steven Universe Future. He gives us an explanation from the perspective of an 8-year-old fan.

Actor/Improviser Tara Copeland (and longtime friend) finally sees Taxi Driver. Both Jess and I and Tara's husband Andrew know it very well. Tara finally gets caught up and offers a sometime contrarian opinion.

Jessica Eason (Babysitter's Club, Big Show Show, Night Court) is a Scorsese/DeNiro devotee but she'd never seen Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. She sees it for the first time and comparisons to Boyhood and a detour through Hannah and Her Sisters.

Another podcast-within-a-podcast! This one features the talented and hilarious Bayne Gibby. Bayne is an actor/writer/director who most recently appeared in the Oscar nominated film Lady Bird. She portrayed Connie on HBO's Enlightened and was Gigi on the HBO's The Comeback. Just a few of her other television credits include Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (CW), Shameless (Showtime), The Guest Book (tbs), Hot in Cleveland (TVLand), Fresh Off the Boat (abc), et al. Her first children's book, You Mean the World to Me (Scholastic) has sold over 90K copies.

The Russian nesting dolls of podcasts. Worst of the Best is a demo of a pitch of a podcast. While we fine tune it, I present the first draft here for you. Improviser/writer/actor/magician New Jersey native and Bruce Springsteen devotee Matt Donnelly calls out the worst album Bruce Springsteen has ever put out. Is it the one you would've picked?

Mel Brooks is promoting History of the World, Part 1 on KGO Radio on a show hosted by my dad! Bonus info: I was there in studio and also escorted Mr. Brooks to the TV side to do AM San Francisco. Bonus Bonus info: He was utterly great and even told me a joke -- just to me! A private joke from Mel Brooks to me! Lastly, that network news anchor at the very end, Bob Schmidt? Ten years after this was recorded, I was working with him the the ABC Radio Network Newsroom in NYC.

Bonus Bonus Bonus info: our collective memory is that a very young Tom Hanks was also on that same show promoting Bosom Buddies. I can't verify it but my dad and I both remember it that way so it must be true.

(iTunes is weird sometimes and I'll find things mysteriously deleted. I recovered the full interview on a backup drive and reposted it with the additional content.)
