lex and Chace are back after a partial week off and they have a few large stories to discuss. They start with some news that is tough to talk about. That being Bob Murray stepping down as the Anaheim Ducks General Manager and entering the NHL's Alcohol Abuse Program. The guys talk about why it is an unfortunate situation that like all bad situations, is a good thing it has come to light but a bad thing it ever happened. They also look at the Ducks on the ice and discuss their future. Next, they look at the updates with John Doe two and the Chicago Blackhawks case. Before switching to the actual team that fired head coach Jermy Colliton last week. Discussing his future and the teams future as a whole.
The guys also look at just how bad the Arizona Coyotes are. Astonished that their record can be so poor this far into a season. They are currently sitting at 1-13-1 and the guys place over/under on their final points. Finally, Alex and Chace look at the Ottawa Senators COVID situation and how that may affect things heading forward.
On a rainy, at times even chilly night in Cincinnati, the United States Men's National Team faced their eternal rival in Mexico and came out the clear winners. Goals from substitute Christian Pulisic and Weston McKinnie are what appear on the stat sheet, but there's a lot to take from this game in the way the team played, in who stood out, and perhaps who has really cemented their spots in the squad.
But what about Mexico? Is Tata Martino to blame for the loss? Or is it more about the players? And should there be some worry considering who they play in their next game?
There's also the traditional trip around CONCACAF for Sean Garmer and Erik Watkins as they discuss the 1-0 victory for Canada over a younger Costa Rica. Panama going to San Pedro Sula and stealing the game away from Honduras. Plus, Alex Roldan rescues a point at home against Jamaica too.

Alex and Chace are back and have a few news items to discuss this week. However, those few items are quite large topics. To start, they take a look at the biggest news of the week. That being that Jack Eichel trade. After months of talks and speculation, Eichel is finally on his way to the Vegas Golden Knights. However, what do the guys think of the return? Let's just say, it was pretty underwhelming to one of them.
After that, they switch their focus to a couple of signings that happened between last week and now. First, they look at defending Norris winner Adam Fox getting paid. Both guys agree that there isn't too much to discuss here as Fox is one of the elite players in the NHL. However, there is some more interesting thoughts when it comes to Morgan Rielly and his deal. Chace specifically isn't too sure what to make of it or if it makes sense for Toronto. Alex wonders how to properly balance now vs the future and what Toronto believes their cup window is.
In this episode of the Necessary Roughness Podcast, host Nikolas Donadic dives into the NFL regular season’s Week 9 matchups. He also wonders if the Seahawks might be poised for a surprise playoff push, breaks down how the OBJ trade was a resounding failure for the Browns, and debates whether the Lions and Jaguars may be looking for new head coaches sooner rather than later.
