When the concept came about to do a show centered around the UEFA Champions League Draw who knew a bunch of other news would come out the same day.
So basically there's the second episode in one week for everyone. First up, Sean Garmer and Erik Watkins discuss the 2021 UEFA Champions League Draw. So many storylines to choose from with Manchester City versus PSG, Liverpool versus AC Milan, Real Madrid versus Inter Milan, Manchester United versus Villarreal. But beyond just matchups, who could surprise? Is there a team to look forward to? And of course what headlines will be pulled from this as well.
Also, the United States Men's National Team has named their 26 player squad. Are there any glaring omissions? How do we feel about the squad in general? Sean also has some thoughts on Ricardo Pepi deciding to pick the USA over Mexico. Plus, a little more on the now, fully European Covid-19 Red List with Serie A and LaLiga joining the English Premier League in not allowing players to travel for National Team duty.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe are talking up all of the retail space for what's left in the transfer window after Harry Kane decided to stay at Tottenham. Are we going to see both of the players in new team kits before the close of the window on September 1? How does Cristiano potentially fit into a Manchester City side? Interesting thoughts ahead.
Also, Erik's thoughts on the MLS All-Star game on What We Watched, and Predictions for who gets out of each UEFA Champions League group at the end of the show as well.
Several non Soccer playing-related stories dominate the discussion on this week's Soccer 2 the MAX, as the two-man crew of Sean Garmer and Erik Watkins tackle quite a few big topics.
Alex is back in the dog days of summer for the NHL season. However, there is always plenty to discuss when Matt Bosty joins the podcast. Today, the guys take a look at the Sens offseason so far and touch on what they see from some of the lesser talked about RFA's. They also dive into the crazy NHL offseason from different teams throughout the league and why it may be a good thing Ottawa has done very little.
From there, they take a look at what the defence, forwards, and goaltending may look like for the 2021-22 Ottawa Senators roster. How do they see different pieces fitting and is there something still to come? Finally, they discuss ads coming to NHL jerseys and does it mean anything? As well as the report that the Senators sound like they will be requiring proof of double vaccination to enter Sens games this season. Tune in for all of this and more with the Last Word on Sens Podcast!
Sorry about missing the last few weeks, but the show has returned. Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison discuss playing Sailor Zombie, Boyfriend Dungeon, Twelve Minutes, the Back 4 Blood Beta, The Forgotten City, and The Tales of Arise demo.
In this episode of the Necessary Roughness Podcast, host Nikolas Donadic dives into his AFC predictions for the upcoming season. He also touches on the weird Kelvin Benjamin-Joe Judge feud, wonders if Carson Wentz’s setback will signal another injury-riddled season, and catches viewers up on more NFL news and notes. Enjoy the show and join us next Saturday for the following episode!
Alex and Chace are back and with part two of their series of Top 20 Lists. Last week, they took a look at the centres. However, this time the guys rank the Best NHL wingers in the game. Going through their top 20 and explaining exactly why each player falls in their respective spot. First, they need to take a look at some news and signings. This also includes Joe Thornton finding a new home for the year. How much does he have to give? Will he be in the lineup all year? The guys also give their thoughts on the announcement that ads will be on jerseys in the future.
The guys debate their lists, which have a similar top five and top nine. However, unlike the top of the centres, the order isn't the same. In fact, there were only two players ranked in the same spot between the two. Both Alex and Chace admit how hard it is to separate wingers in today's game as there are so many good ones and the difference between players can be so slight.
Soccer 2 the MAX is back! And all three of your hosts are here, as Sean Garmer once again rejoins Erik Watkins and Rachael Kriger in talking about the beautiful game they love so much.
What's up Internet? This week on Last Word SC Radio, Harvey Cruz makes his podcast debut. He joins Matt, Rachael, and Dan to get caught up on all the August MLS action.
We do Red Light, Yellow Light, Green Light on MLS teams, players, and people of the last two weeks. In the Round Table, we talk international club competitions with Concacaf Champions League and Leagues Cup letdowns.
The quartet ends the show with MLS Rivalry Weekend Pick 'Ems.
The guys are back after their offseason recap episodes! Today, they will be taking a look at the Top 20 best NHL centres. This list will include age, performance, and a little bit of projection as they try and go through who are the 20 best NHL centres heading into the 2021-22 season.
First, they have a few contract signings to look at though. Starting off with a trio of goaltenders, the guys give their thoughts on each and every one. Alex wishes there was almost a bit more risk involved in some of the contracts signed this week, which is unusual for him. They also take a look at the new Sam Reinhart deal and give their thoughts on that.
Finally, they dive into the list. The top three are very similar and the top eight or so have a lot of the same names. However, the closer they got to 20, the harder things got to decide. Overall, the guys go through each list and talk their way through why they have everyone ranked where they do.
Alex is back after a few weeks off and he has lots to talk about. Since the last episode, there has been plenty of action. Including the Ottawa Senators Draft class of 2021 and free agency! To help him break it all down, he has Ross Levitan joining him. Together, they start with the Ottawa Senators Draft. Examining the picks made and also diving into the idea of Ottawa constantly reaching on picks.
From there, they look at the future of the team and when to expect the next crop of rookies to come up. The guys also examine the Evgenii Dadonov trade and his time in Ottawa. Looking at the return and what it means for both sides in the deal. Finally, they look at the few names Ottawa did sign during the free agency period and what they think the roster may look like this coming season.
