  • MnM Hockey Podcast - NHL News Before the Expansion Draft

The guys are back and will have two podcasts in one week! Today, they take a look at all the NHL news that has happened since they recorded last week. They were originally going to wait for the Kraken expansion draft, but there was just too much going on. Instead, the guys look at trades, signings, rumours and more that have taken place over the last seven days or so.

One of the biggest pieces of NHL news was that Ryan Ellis would be on the move. The guys take a look at the trade and give their thoughts. Alex has been banging the drum that Nashville should rebuild for a while now, so he is happy with what is taking place. As well, they look at the Toronto Maple Leafs trading Jared McCann and try to figure out why they bothered to expose him right after. Chace has some big questions about whether or not it makes sense to do a side deal when a better option may have been available regardless. Tune in for all of that and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

  • Are We Excited About The Steam Deck? Tom Clancy's XDefiant, No Switch Pro? - VG2M # 281

Ubisoft announces their new game XDefiant, a 6 vs 6 multiplayer shooter with factions from various Tom Clancy games. Nintendo actually acknowledges rumors only to shoot them down. Could they be serious about no other Switch models? Yeah... about that.

Also, the Steam Deck is seriously a thing and it has gotten everyone riled up about everything from emulation to portable PCs to even being a "Switch Killer." Don't really think that the last one is going to happen, but preorders did drop for it and a few of the SKU's have already been delayed.
Speaking of delays, there have been a few of those. But there's also been the announcement of Company of Heroes 3, the purchase of Sumo by Tencent, possible proof that the Metroid Prime Trilogy is ready for Switch, Netflix getting into gaming, the NPD numbers for June 2021, and much more.
Also, Marc Morrison finally beat Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and It Takes Two. He got to play some Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as well and he talks about why it didn't quite jive with him. Sean Garmer had a week off from games pretty much, as he's been trying to knock out some written reviews.

  • MnM Hockey Podcast - NHL Offseason Insanity

Alex and Chace are back and the NHL Offseason is here! It is already one of the busiest starts we have seen in a long time. The guys had a week off and now have plenty to catch up on. It's a longer episode and a heated one too. First, they recap the Stanley Cup Finals and look at where each team goes from here. After that, they shift to a load of news that has broken over the past week, specifically the last 48 hours.

Some new deals were signed such as Travis Dermorr, Joel Eriksson Ek, and even a non-player in Pierre McGuire. However, some incredibly confusing moves were made, which included Duncan Keith, Ryan Suter, and Zach Parise. The guys give their thoughts on all of them and if they understand what was happening or not. Alex and Chace also look forward to what may be the craziest NHL offseason this sport has ever seen. Tune in for all of that and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

  • The End of Judgment? FIFA 22's Very Costly Upgrade

Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison bring you another edition of Video Games 2 the MAX as they discuss games they are playing like Sean finishing Chicory: A Colorful Tale and starting up Scarlet Nexus. Marc also got into It Takes Two and more Timespinner as well.

They also wonder if the recent news about SEGA and the agency in charge of the lead actor Takuya Kimura having a standoff about a PC version of Judgment could spell the end for the series. Should they just go on with another actor? And what does this say about SEGA's push for PC?
A huge announcement made much earlier in the week from Bloomberg looks to put the next Assassin's Creed code-named Infinity into the live service realm. Marc is a major fan of the franchise and has reviewed all three of the most recent games, as well as many of the older ones as well and he has plenty to say on where the franchise could be headed, if it is a good idea or not, and if it means we see smaller scale AC settings again too.
Double Fine wades into the difficulty debate by adding an Invincibility Mode for Psychonauts 2. Where do Sean and Marc stand on having things like this in video games?
Plus, EA becomes the latest publisher to test gamer's wallets if you want to do an upgrade from last-gen to current-gen, Thoughts on Sony's latest State of Play, Square-Enix sells out of Final Fantasy XIV digitally, and more.

  • Last Word on Sens Podcast: Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft with Dan Morse

Alex is back after a few weeks off to enjoy the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. With those wrapping up, it is time to look forward to the offseason. One of the biggest events will no doubt be the Seattle Kraken expansion draft. Because this will be such a big event, Alex has Dan Morse on to join him and break it all down.

The two look at all kinds of things such as how can Seattle build this team effectively? As well, what are the expectations like for year one in Seattle? Alex wants to see the focus be on cap space and draft picks, using them effectively to set up a nice future. However, there also needs to be a balance between that and entertaining fans. Losing a bunch of games 2-1 seems like a bad strategy for a new team. They also take a look at what player the Ottawa Senators may lose. Tune in for all of this and more, with the Last Word on Sens Podcast!

  • Nintendo Switch OLED Announced, Does Sony Need to Do More With PS NOW - VG2M # 279

We actually recorded our latest episode before the Switch OLED announcement, so we didn't have the same problem two weeks in a row, we recorded a special short talking about all things Nintendo Switch OLED model. Then our regular episode follows when that ends at about 25 mins in.

Well, it has finally happened. The next iteration of the Nintendo Switch has been announced, but is it everything everyone hoped it would be? Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison discuss the expectations versus what was actually revealed. Are we disappointed? Are we upset? What is there to feel anymore. Also, stay tuned afterward for our regular episode # 279 about 24 minutes into this. The episode description is as follows...

On this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX hosts Sean Garmer and Marc Morrison cover a PlayStation heavy show with some acquisitions, some losses, and pushing for some change from the big gaming brand.
Of course, we are referring to bringing Housemarque, Nixxes, and possibly even Bluepoint too. Are all of these expected? What do we expect to see next? And is this better than making a bigger splash purchase? Plus, the official end of Sony Japan Studio as well.
Also, a lot of controversy abounds over the decision of charging for the PlayStation 5 upgrade of the Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut. Is the $10 charge justified? Is this greed? Or does it make sense considering what's added? Are either of the guys interested in the Director's Cut at all?
The guys also get into a discussion on whether or not Sony needs to do more with PlayStation NOW. Is it fine the way it is? Do is it need Day 1 games like Xbox Game Pass? Or are more quality of life changes what's in order? How about just putting a little hype behind it?
Finally, the guys talk about Nintendo wanting to do more with Donkey Kong, the rumored remake of Dead Space, and also with the reveal of EA Play Spotlights ahead of the July 22 event. The major topic for this show centers around bringing back dormant EA Sports franchises and which ones could work today.

  • MnM Hockey Podcast: Stanley Cup Finals and Signings

Alex and Chace are back after a week off and have lots to talk about. First, they start with the Chicago Blackhawks situation and the allegations with it. Having a discussion about why it is sad but very important these things come out. From there, they shift to the Stanley Cup Finals. Looking at the Conference Finals first and the two teams that got sent home. What went wrong? Where do they go from here?

After that, they look at Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals and how the Montreal Canadiens can climb back into things. Alex and Chace give the Canadiens props for making it this far and discuss whether or not their defensive setup will be enough to get past Tampa, who seemingly can play every way possible. Finally, they look at the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins signing and the Wayne Simmonds signing, giving their thoughts on both.
