Alex and Chace are back, and they decide there is no dancing around the elephant in the room. Right away, they start with the Game 7 and the series collapse for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The guys dissect what happened and what went wrong, as well as how Chace is feeling now. From there, they look at where does this Toronto Maple Leafs roster go from here? Alex thinks the best course of action is to keep the plan, even with all the disappointment.
After, they take a look at the Montreal Canadiens who continue to roll and wonder if they do have a chance in the third round. They also look at the other series and discuss the surprises and expected things from each series. Finally, Alex and Chace break down the Seth Jones rumours and what it means going forward. They also discuss what Jones is at this point in his career and Alex thinks a bad deal will be coming for a team. Join for all that and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

The guys are back to talk about the Habs 2-0 series lead over the Winnipeg Jets. Game one played out very much as our hosts predicted. The Jets were a bit rusty and sloppy and the Habs took advantage. The 5-3 scoreline was a bit flattering for the Jets. Still, the game was overshadowed by Mark Scheifele's hit on Jake Evans at the end of the game. Evans is out indefinitely with a concussion while Scheifele has been suspended for four games. Both are big losses to their respective teams.
Needless to say, the fallout was rather ridiculous on social media and in the actual media. Still, there are games to play and the Habs were able to keep their focus and win a tight-checking 1-0 game two. They now return home with an opportunity to close out the series. The Habs have won five games in a row and whatever they are doing, it seems to be working.
All this and lineup changes, feeling confident, the dangers of looking ahead and much much more!

The guys come back on a very special episode of the pod to discuss the Habs big game seven win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. While a game seven is always stressful, the guys talk about how it didn't quite feel the same pressure or stress for this one. The feeling was aided by the Leafs lack of urgency in the game, which was surprising.
What was also surprising was the fact the Habs came back from a 3-1 series deficit to knock their rivals out of the playoffs. Surprising and joyous. The game followed several tropes for the Leafs in their game seven disappointments. A bad goal, a lack of urgency, no production from their top players. While a lot of focus will be spent on the Leafs playoff failures, the Habs are moving on to face the well-rested Winnipeg Jets. It will be interesting to see how the Habs change their game plan against the bigger Jets. The guys are both picking the Habs to win then series and game one will be vital.
All this and lineup decisions, Leafs fans, the Habs playoff schedule and much much more!

What a week it's been in Habs land. After splitting the first two games, the Toronto Maple Leafs took games three and four in a decisive fashion. The Habs looked like they were on their way out. However, the Habs then won five and six in overtime to force a game seven.
With the big game coming up, the guys talk about their keys to the game. Both hosts agree the first five or ten minutes will go a long way in determining how the game will go. Connor thinks the longer the Habs are in the game, the more the pressure of past failures will start to weigh on the Leafs. Johannes wonders how real of a thing that is. Either way, a game seven felt like an impossibility a week ago, so let's just ride the wave.
All this and sports psychology, player usage, playoff baggage, and much much more!

Alex and Chace are back with a ton to discuss as round one of the 2021 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs is almost done. They have one more game seven to get through, and Chace is anxious about it. However, they start by looking through all the other series that have wrapped up. Discussing how the series went and where each team had success. They also then spend a good amount of time looking at what is next for the eliminated teams. What went wrong for them? And where do they go from here on out?
Finally, they take a look at tonight's Game 7. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens have had quite the series, and it all comes down to one game. The guys discuss Mitch Marner and the whole overreaction, which is natural for fandom. However, they also talk about what the reaction will be like if Montreal pulls it out and takes the final game. Tune in for all of this and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!
