What's up Internet? This week on Last Word SC, Dan Sperry and Matt Pollard are in Holiday gift giving mode. We do our annual MLS secret santa/holiday gift giving episode, where we go shopping for every MLS team for their 2020 season. 

The guys go through who needs a center back, or a striker, or in Dan's case "here's a gift card for X, go figure it out already."

The guys are back with another busy week of news. They take a look at a multitude of NHL coaches that have been fired for different reasons. First, they touch on the Jim Montgomery situation and why it is so strange even among everything that has gone on. They talk about how closed and broad the terminology was and what it may mean moving forward. Next, they take a look at John Hynes and Peter DeBoer who were both fired for bad team performances and no allegations. Alex and Chace look and compare the two coaches, asking questions like is it really their fault? Alex believes DeBoer will find a job very soon if he wished to have one.

Following that, they take a look at the brutal Detroit Red Wings. Asking why they are this bad and wondering if they should have seen this coming. The guys try and plan out a future for Detroit and ask who all should they trade? This then ties into Zach Bogosian asking for a trade out of the Buffalo Sabres organization. Last Word on Habs: Montreal Canadiens Christmas Vacation

This week our hosts discuss the state of the Montreal Canadiens heading into the Christmas break. After a couple of strong wins, the Habs, again, drop a winable game at home against an inferior opponent.

Next, the guys dissect the first leg of the Habs year ending seven-game road trip. The Habs head out to Western Canada before the holidays, hoping for some nice presents. Unfortunately, based on their past performance, Connor thinks the Habs will end up with some cole in their stockings. Johannes thinks there might be something nice for the Habs waiting underneath the tree.

All this and winners and losers, an update on Connor's health, baby Daniel is two (!) and much much more.

Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens Holding Pattern

On this week's episode, the guys celebrate the end of the Habs eight-game winless streak. Despite taking two of three, the Habs still face an uphill climb to the playoffs.

Even though the Habs ended their losing streak, the team does have holes that need filling. The guys, again, discuss whether Marc Bergevin has a move in him before the trade deadline. Johannes thinks he does, Connor is concerned with Bergevin's overly conservative approach.
