Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens Grasping at Straws
It's an angry and somber edition of the pod this week. After eight loss' in a row, the guys have had just about enough. Things flow a bit differently as reliving the past week was just too painful.
Instead, the guys examine the Montreal Canadiens as a whole. First, the guys look at Claude Julien and see what he can do to help turn things around. Johannes and Connor think Julien might need to scale back his coaching style. They also agree that Julien's system is not working well with this group, perhaps its time for a system the players can thrive in (especially on defence).
Then the players get put under the microscope. A lot of players are underperforming. Jeff Petry had a rough week. Max Domi has also struggled recently. While there are some nice pieces on the roster, it seems that their overall lack of size is catching up with them.
Finally, the guys dig in on their favorite topic, Marc Bergevin. They look at all aspects of the GM. His trading style, team philosophy, and systems.
All this and winners and losers, Habs call up's, potential trade targets and much, much more.
    TUNE IN!

  • MnM Hockey Podcast - Bill Peters, Mike Babcock, Suspensions
Alex and Chace have a much more serious episode than usual today. For starters, they take a look at the Bill Peters situation which eventually led to him resigning. They try and take a look at hockey culture as a whole and what to learn from this. As well, exactly how to try and fix this so things like this never happen again going forward. Talking about morals, right and wrong, and fixing past mistakes. After Bill Peters, the guys take a look at the Mike Babcock and Mitch Marner situation. Chace wonders how Babcock would have ever thought this was a good idea. Alex thinks that Nazem Kadri and Tyler Bozak showed character by how they handled the situation. Overall, the guys try and look at how it may have affected things like contract negotiations and whether or not we should view them differently.
Lastly, the guys look at a trip of suspensions. Alex wants Robert Bortuzzo out for much longer, however, he actually agrees with the Erik Cernak suspension. After, they also look at the Alexander Kerfoot suspension. Comparing the three and asking what about the length and should injuries affect the outcome? Lastly, the guys talk about the Department of Player Safety and why they need to improve.

The guys are back and they have a very busy week of content. The Toronto Maple Leafs fired Mike Babcock and that is all that is on the mind. Alex and Chace look at every angle. They also look at what Sheldon Keefe may do differently and why it may be important to future success.
Next, the guys take a look at the Garnet Hathaway suspension. They talk about if it was too much or too little for spitting on a player. The guys also discuss how much worse is spitting vs licking? As well, should Erik Gudbranson have been punished?
Finally, they take a look at the Matt Calvert situation and what to do if a player is on the ice. Alex has a rant about why the league has a rule in place and why the refs screwed up big. As well, they look at the Calgary Flames trade rumours and discuss what their future should be. Tune in for all of this and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens Sour Saturdays
On this week's episode, the guys dig in on an interesting week of hockey for the Habs. Montreal secured five of six points and are sitting in second in the Atlantic division. Still, there were concerning trends this week.
The guys also dig in on the Alex Ovechkin hit on Jonathan Drouin. Was it as dirty as some make it out to be? Both hosts kind of come down on the same side on this one. Then they discuss the controversy surrounding the ref's calling back Phillip Danualt's game-winning goal Saturday night. Is it possible to kick a puck in with a hip? The Refs seem to think so. Connor and Johannes don't. They tee off on the zebra's, which is always fun.
All this and winners and losers, Habs defensive issues, letting in late period goals and much much more!
