"And weirdly enough, there are traits in him that reminded me of my dad, which back then, I didn't pick up on the imago thing, but I kind of knew that that was kind of a thing because I was sort of the armchair psychology book reading. But I would say that my knowledge of the effects of PTSD, the effects of compounded with a very difficult childhood and the way people cope, anger and eventually beginning a friendship with him."

"Because usually you think if somebody kind of flips out on you as a retail person and they're kind of a little unreasonable that you would actually kind of pull away from them. But nope. In the spirit of customer service, I did talk to him, and he was cool with it, and he even was a little bit more mercurial the next couple times I saw him."

"And he was intrinsic to this story, because in life, nothing stays forever. The only thing that is a certain thing is death and taxes, because when you are no longer here, they will find a way to tax your estate, even with a will. So, long story short, in life, people don't stay. They don't even stay the same. Even if you were to always beat each other's lives, they're not the same person."
