In this "milestone" of an episode I unexpectedly recount a story from my mission that involves a new missionary ditching his companion from the bathroom window on the second floor of their apartment building. Hilarity ensues. And then we get into why the new movie "Those That Wish Me Dead" sucks and that goes into the overvaluing of being in the workforce that our society has placed on all of us. We don't talk about Jimmer joining the Nuggets Summer league team and then all of a sudden not in the matter of what seemed like seconds. But we do get into a little bit of BYU talk, per usual. On today's episode I sit down with my friends Steve Holiday and Chanelle Murri. We talk about the Tik Tok phenomenon in general and specifically how missionaries are using it. Chanelle gives us some insight into the general motivation into using it, and Steve gives some interesting research discoveries that go into explain some of the behavior of those that do. Enjoy!

It was a great conversation that mainly revolved around her book Pass it On that highlights her own experience raising a gay son while a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this episode I bring on an old friend of mine from the BYU days to talk about her experience with her husband getting hit by a car and losing the use of his legs two months into their marriage. Jill Patten has experienced quite a bit in her first couple years of marriage and she goes through and details how she and her husband (Austin) met and the events that led up to his accident. Jill has such a great attitude and positivity that is contagious. She details tender mercies that she remembers experiencing all throughout the incident that had occurred and the conversation is as much enlightening as it is optimistic and encouraging that we can face any trial that comes our way. On today’s episode I give a quick excerpt of Hugh B. Brown’s God is the Gardener talk and why I love it so much (2:30) and then from there I jump into the topic of antichrists in the Book of Mormon (8:39) specifically I talk about the blueprint, where they come from, their philosophies and what they have in common and how a lot of these antichrists exist today, and they’re likely members of the church (17:30). From there I close it out with an old friend from BYU who wrote a letter to the church temple department trying to appeal the ban of beards among temple ordinance workers (29:12) and we talk about BYU and beards, etc. Enjoy!

In this episode I share my quick idea on the role of government in a person’s life and what would lead somebody to scream at the sky as a form of protest. In this episode I bring on a friend since freshman year at BYU, Chris Chineme, who’s parents emigrated from Nigeria before he was born and we talk about all the amazing blessings that come from being in this country. First I start with an intro on the pod, give a few shout outs, etc. and then I go into the story of my own grandparents who are also immigrants and the amazing lives they both had (10:11).
