ABOUT KALEA MCNEILL

Kalea McNeill is an actor/standup comedian from the bay area. She gained a love for performance at an early age through various plays, oratorical competitions, and community events. She went on to attend Clark Atlanta University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. During her matriculation, Kalea hosted many live shows and events on campus and throughout the city of Atlanta, honing in on her quick wit and signature style. In 2013 Kalea decided to make the move from Atlanta to Los Angeles to be closer to her dreams. Even though Kalea’s heart was in acting, she knew that she had a gift in standup comedy. Kalea hit the standup scene hard performing in legendary clubs such as The Comedy Union, and The Comedy Store. In 2017 Kalea booked her first television role as a costar on TNT’s Animal Kingdom. Since then she has booked a recurring role on CW’s Crazy Ex Girlfriend (season 4), and various guest/costar spots on FX, CBS, TruTV and TNT. In 2019 Kalea made her standup comedy television debut via the Amazon Prime Video series “Laugh After Dark” (season 2 episode 12). Be on the lookout for her comedy special "Sma'am" coming to a streaming service near you!

These are words that Kalea lives by whenever she is faced with an obstacle that will be overcome. She keeps a constant connection with her community through various church and alumni organizations. “I’m doing this for everyone that came before me, after me, and for those who are right along with me”
