Worship is not incidental; it is essential. It is not accidental, but intentional. We worship God because of who He is and what He has done. God desires and commands us to worship Him. We should worship! When we fail to worship our hearts become hardened, and we live lives of dissatisfaction because of our disobedience. This week we will take a look at how worship ignites our relationship with God with a message by Steve Forrester entitled "Why Worship?"
For a Christian, worship is the expression of the value we place on God; it's also what gives everything else in life true meaning. You are invited to join us this Sunday when we continue our exciting new core value teaching series Worship is Everything.
"I'm bored"are two words that drive most parents nuts. Truth be told, we've all felt that way. But living the life of a Christ follower is anything but boring. In fact, wherever His church gathers should be the most exciting place on earth!
Did you know that you were created to worship God? God created us to worship Him with everything we have and everything we are. For a Christian, worship is the expression of the value we place on God. All that we are and all that we do should be conceived and carried out as an act of worship; it's what gives everything else its proper meaning.
Not only were you and I created to worship God, it's also why the Church is here, to glorify, celebrate and serve the risen Christ! In fact, we believe that wherever His church gathers should be the most exciting place on earth! At Life Church, be prepared to experience a warm, family friendly, and joy filled celebration that glorifies the Father, exalts the Son, and makes room for the Spirit.
We were created as relational beings desiring to be loved and to love in return. But relationships aren't always easy; in fact they can be quite challenging.
"A new command I give you" Jesus said to His followers as He was preparing to lay down His life for us, "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
Each of us needs others with whom we can laugh, cry and be totally honest. We need friends who care about us, who care enough to listen when we need to talk, comfort and encourage us when we are hurting, friends willing to set aside their own agendas and be there for us through thick and thin. This is the way life in Jesus is meant to be experienced, in community with one another. Yet does God really expect us to give up our lives for one another?
