  • 60 - 3 Criteria to Evaluate Your Decision Making

3 Criteria to Evaluate Your Decision Making

You are a leader therefore you are a decision maker. How good are you at making decisions? Rate yourself 0-10, then ask those you work with to do the same.

There are three areas I would ask you to look at to evaluate how you make decisions.

    1. Decisiveness - do you spend the right amount of time and give the right priorities to your decisions? Understanding the who, what, when and where.
    2. Ownership - Do you own your decisions? When you make a decision is it clear? Do you also own the results?
    3. Values - a key to all things in leading. How well do your decisions align with your values? If they do, they are easier to make and you are predicable.

  • 58 - Celebrations in the Workplace

5 minutes to make you a more effective leader.

    Topic: Celebrations

What is the spectrum of celebrations in your organization? What should it be? This month and next are full of graduations, weddings, etc. Think about celebrations in your work place?

    Every celebration has three elements.

    1. Looking behind - what got you where you are today to be celebrating what you're celebrating

    2. Celebrating the accomplishment

    3. Looking forward to how this will propel you forward.

As a leader what have you recently accomplished? Did you celebrate it? What about those that you lead? Or a team? Have they accomplished something recently? Did you celebrate it?

I would argue celebrating small accomplishments consistently can have an even larger impact than the bigger more obviously accomplishments.

How do you celebrate? Share below. Need help evaluating how to improve this in your organization? Contact me today.
