I was on a coaching call from one of my coaching methodology classes tonight. My partner was a woman I’d never met. Her headset was faulty and our conversation quickly turned into something sounding like a bad cell phone commercial... “can you hear me now?” There was no real connection. When it was her turn to coach me, I shared my big dream and what I’m up to for the next 3 months. she told me my dream sounded “black white and gray” and that I needed to paint it with color. I hit my tongue and didn’t say what I really wanted. The lack of connection and generous listening caused the conversation to stall, but I learned a deep lesson about truly seeing the person in front of you.

Today we took a sampling of students and asked, “why do you do yoga?” The results were varied, but unanimous that all reported great benefits. Drop the excuses and just be willing to show up. “Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.”
