הסרט "החיים על פי אגפא" מספר על חיי הלילה של הישראלים בתל-אביב.

הסרט יצא בשנת 1993, נכתב ובוים על-ידי אסי דיין, ומככבים בו גילה אלמגור, עירית פרנק, סמדר קילצ'ינסקי ואכרם טילאווי.

הסרט הוא למעשה תצלום בן 12 שעות של אורח החיים בבאר ישראלי. הוא צולם בתל-אביב ויצא לאקרנים בשפה העברית.

רוב ההתרחשות בסרט סובבת סביב באר תל-אביבי בשם "בארבי", ושתי בעלות הבאר משחקות תפקידים מרכזיים. הסרט מתמקד במערכת היחסים ביניהן.

אחת מהבעלות, דליה, מנהלת רומן עם מפיק קולנוע נשוי שבריאותו מידרדרת.

האחרת, ליאורה, נמצאת בקשר עם חבר הבוגד בה ללא הרף.

בתוך הבאר, אנו פוגשים בבעלים, כמה חיילים, ומספר דמויות צבעוניות אחרות.

החבר של ליאורה מציל את אחת מהאורחות בבאר, אישה שברירית, מהחיילים המבלים בבאר, אך בסופו של דבר הוא מפתה אותה לשכב עימו.

הסרט מלא בטרגדיות כמו זו, כאשר חייהן של הדמויות נשזרים אלה באלה בצורות דרמטיות ועצובות.

"החיים על פי אגפא" זכה לציון של כבוד בפסטיבל הסרטים בברלין.

הוא זכה בשישה פרסי אופיר, ובהם שחקן המשנה ושחקנית המשנה הטובים ביותר, התסריט הטוב ביותר, הפסקול הטוב ביותר, הבמאי הטוב ביותר והסרט הטוב ביותר.

במאי הסרט היה גם מועמד לפרס דוב הזהב בברלין, אך לא זכה.

"Life According to Agfa"

The film "Life According to Agfa" is a story about Israeli nightlife in Tel Aviv. The 1993 film was written and directed by Assi Dayan, and it stars Gila Almagor, Irit Frank, Smadar Kilchinsky, and Akram Tillawi. The movie is basically a twelve-hour snapshot of the patrons and lifestyle inside a certain pub in Israel. It was shot in Tel Aviv and released in the Hebrew language.

Most of the action in the film centers around a bar in Tel Aviv called Barbie, and the bar's two female owners play a central role. Their relationships are the focus of much of the film. One of the owners, Dalia, is romantically involved with a married film producer whose health is failing. The other owner, Leora, has a boyfriend who continually cheats on her.

Inside the bar we see the owners, a number of soldiers, and a number of other very colorful characters. Leora's boyfriend ends up saving one of the bar patrons, an emotionally fragile woman, from the soldiers who frequent the bar, but he ends up seducing her. The movie is full of tragedies just like this as the characters' lives intertwine with each other in dramatic and sorrowful ways.

"Life According to Agfa" received an honorable mention at the International Film Festival in Berlin. It received six awards from the Israeli Film Academy, including best supporting actor and actress, best screenplay, best sound, best director, and best film. The movie's director was also nominated for a Golden Berlin Bear, although he did not win the award.
