February 08, 2022 A walk-though of how to use GCS.
The GURPS Character Sheet is the best way to create GURPS characters. Yes, you could create one with pen and paper, but why? You can play such great "what if" scenarios with GCS... "What if I add one more point of DX" or "What if I added another level to the combat skill", which would work better for me?
GCS has been actively developed for 20+ years, and is STILL being developed. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.
This video runs through creating a character, and shows off a lot of features of GCS (but not all, even I don't know all of the features of GCS).
Longtime users have even commented on features they didn't know existed... and even I didn't know about a feature... until Rich Wilkes (the GCS developer) told me about it:
"You can quickly increment and decrement a Skill level by pressing ctrl-period and ctrl-slash (it will automatically add or subtract the correct number of character points).
See the menu option 'Edit' - 'State...' for more keyboard shortcuts."

December 20, 2021 GURPS: Combat! How one second can change your (character's) life!
Is D&D combat getting a bit, repetitive? Would you like to be able to do more tactical things? GURPS Combat can be customized from cinematic to gritty reality, and it is just up to you to decide what you like.
GURPS Tactical combat is one of the best RPG combat systems (IMHO), because it is so customizable. You can start with a small number of options, for your beginning players, and then add maneuvers as the party gains more experience with the system.

November 25, 2021 GURPS Game Mechanics (and how the "Wing it" rule and the Success roll will let you do anything)
This video focuses on Game Mechanics, and the one "roll" to rule them all, the "success roll". Once you have learned this mechanic, you can use any rule in the book. Or any rule you can dream up. That's the other great thing about GURPS... you DO NOT have to use their rules. If you don't know a rule (and don't have time to look it up), you can just "wing it". You don't need an encyclopedic knowledge of the GURPS rules to play. You can start with very little knowledge, and learn more as you go.
NOTE: I mis-spoke during the video. Jake's alcoholism disadvantage did NOT have a self control roll. But it did have a check vs WILL to see if he partook in the presence of alcohol, which acted the same as a control roll. So on my character sheet, I wrote it as "Alcoholism [CR:12]" to let me know that I would need to make a roll (a "control" roll) in order to withstand his urges. I am sorry for the confusion... I just read my old character sheet, and didn't re-check the Basic Set before publishing ;-)
P.S. I know, my face is really low resolution... I tried to fix the "out of focus" issue from the first video by sitting farther back. I have since purchased a new camera so hopefully the next video will look better! ;-)
