This EP features Andrew Eaton.  Andrew is a teacher, who integrates traditional strength training, mindset coaching, and brain-based physical training. He found his way to weight training as a response to being bullied in middle school. The lessons learned there laid the foundation for an entire career. 

 After college, he was certain that a radio career was the next step in his journey, but he found himself instead writing and editing a periodical for back-care professionals. Then, ten words on a flyer at the gym changed his trajectory - advertising the first personal training certification course on the East Coast. 

 Shortly after completing that course, a chance encounter while visiting family found him relocating halfway across the US to take a ground-floor position in the facility the Chicago Bulls called home. Once there, like many 'fitness nerds,' he set out to learn as much as possible, wanting to become something of a fitness Swiss Army knife. He also met his wife and her son, and they had two children together. 

 Over the following ten years, he left the club and started Eaton Sports and Fitness, designed to support athletes on their path toward performance. The last decade has included certifications in nutrition, mindset, and most recently, the revelation that he'd been missing a significant piece of his education. 

 Andrew lives in Illinois with his daughter, Kate, and his grand-dog, Fiona.

This EP features performance coach and exercise physiologist, Scott Wilgress.  Over the course of his career, he has worked with hundreds of provincial, national, and professional athletes.  He was a member of Team Nova Scotia as the Physiologist / Strength Coach for the 2011, 2013, and 2015 Canada Games.  

He’s helped prepare athletes for 5 Olympic Games in sports such as Gymnastics, Sprint Canoe/Kayak, Hockey, Sailing, Boxing, and as a part of Softball Canada’s Integrated Support Team, he attended the 2019 Pan-American Games and the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. 

Scott is currently helping prepare athletes with Canoe Kayak Canada's Sprint program, and Gymnastics Canada's Women's Artistic program for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.  

He also maintains leadership roles in Strength and Conditioning at the Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic, as well as with Own the Podium's High-Performance Advisory Council. He lives in Nova Scotia with his wife Kimi and their three kids.  Enjoy!

This EP features Strength and Conditioning Coach, and High-Performance Manager with the Canadian Armed Forces, Elliott Richardson.  His background includes experience as an athlete, coach, mentor, educator, presenter, and integrator of disciplines to optimize human performance. 

 Before he transitioned to working with the military population, he spent almost a decade as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sports Performance Manager with Acadia University. There he oversaw a team of multidisciplinary staff and interns supporting over 300 Varsity athletes across 10 teams. 

 He also built a private business - Acadia Performance Training - that served three functions: serve the community and provincial athletes, generate revenue to support Varsity staffing positions and provide an opportunity for coaches to develop their skills. While at Acadia, he also taught in the school of kinesiology. 

 His coaching career began after a three-year career in the Canadian Football League with Edmonton and Saskatchewan. His goal when transitioning to coaching was to provide athletes with the opportunities that he didn't have growing up and provide mentorship to coaches that he wished he had started. He now lives in Ontario with his wife and three kids.

She's an award-winning Foods & Nutrition University professor, writer for Precision Nutrition, and owns her private practice NutritionRx.

Jen has worked with clients from NHL hockey players and Olympic athletes to everyday folks looking to eat and feel better.

In this episode, Alex Dziri and I discuss the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to transform various industries, including coaching.  AI is here to stay and we must recognize what it can do for us, and how we can employ it to support our work, not eliminate it.  

We emphasized the need for humans to adapt to the changing landscape and collaborate with AI systems while acknowledging the limitations of AI and the potential for it to impact jobs. 

Alex introduced a metaphor to help people think about AI more productively, viewing it as a sort of autistic cousin who is smarter than us, and recognizing that AI has all the answers we need but we need to ask it the right way. 

We also discussed the potential of AI in content creation, emphasizing its role as a collaboration tool rather than a replacement for human writers or artists.  We hope this episode helps you to embrace the use of AI in your work and life, and that it supplies you with some strategies to get started or continue on your journey with Artificial Intelligence.
