God gives light and truth to His people through His Word. Verses 129-136 of Psalm 119 show us the treasure of unfolding the truth of Scripture for more understanding. We are to study it, treasure it, and by God's grace both understand it and live it out for the glory of His name!

God's will for each believer is to be made more like the Lord Jesus through His work of sanctification. To that end, we are to abstain from sexual immorality and to use our bodies for the glory of God. How does the Scripture define sexual immorality? What does it mean for the believer to live a life of pure devotion to God? We see these truths over the course of 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8. Here we see both the call to abstain from sinful distortions of God's design and the goodness of His design in the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman united for life to His glory.

How can a Christian know when they are trusting God? How can they know if their hearts are looking to Him in humble dependence even in the hard situations of life? Over verses 121-128 of Psalm 119, we see the Word of God emphasizing the steadfast love of God and the heart of humility we are to have to be taught by Him. These are two marks of spiritual health in the life of a believer who is walking through suffering with a heart of dependence and submission to the Lord.

What is God's will for our lives? 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 1-3 gives a resounding answer showing us that His will is our sanctification. God is at work in the lives of believers making them more like the Lord Jesus Christ. He is bringing them into greater submission to His Word, He is changing their heart's desires, and He is bringing glory to His name through His people. May we be encouraged by this passage to pursue His pleasure in our lives!

How do we as believers respond when we see evil and sin in the world? What does it mean for us to run to God as our refuge? How do we find hope in the Word? Verses 113-120 of Psalm 119 show us how to look to the Lord and find great hope through the Scripture as we live in a fallen world. May we be encouraged by these truths!

What does it mean for a church to grow? How does the Scripture call on churches to grow? In this sermon, we dive into 1 Thessalonians chapter 3 verses 11-13 to see the work of Christ in growing His church. He grows His people in love, in submission to the truth, and in living holy lives for the glory of His name. May we be encouraged to pursue Christ-honoring growth in the local church!

God's Word is the light to our path revealing how we are called to live for the glory of His name. How do we as Christians walk by the light of Scripture in the midst of the various situations of life we face? In this study, we walk through Psalm 119 and also Psalm 12 looking at how we as believers bring the situations we are facing to the truth of the Word so that we would know how God calls us to live. In this time of Bible study, we looked at Psalm 119 and saw the all-surpassing power of the Word of God to equip us to live for the glory of God. The Scripture delights God's people so that they love the Word and are equipped to live for the praise of Christ. May we be encouraged to pursue Him!

The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of our faith as believers. In 1 Corinthians 15, we see the reality of our hope grounded in Christ defeating the grave. His resurrection also testifies to the reality of the last day where we will be raised to life with Him receiving glorified bodies in a new creation. May we rejoice in these truths as we are reminded of the foundation of our faith!

In Psalm 119:89-96, we see the psalmist focusing in on the character of God and the nature of the Word. This powerful section of Scripture shows us that the Word is eternal, unchanging truth revealing God to us. What a wonderful treasure for us as Christians to see the glorious character of our God who is faithful!
