In this meditation, first we radiate kindness to ourself and then others.
This exercise comes from therapy modality called somatic experiencing. Useful for people who experience very intense emotions or who are experiencing the after experience of trauma. This is very accessible and simple. We advise you to practice this when you are in a calm mood. You are invited to find somewhere private, comfortable and safe. Invited to notice some distress you might be feeling.
This could be new experience for you and there and no right or wrong answers on how to do this.
This exercise is simple and safe. Similar to mindfulness, find a safe place where you wont be disturbed. Encountered as part of the wellness recovery action plan manual by Mary Ellen Copland. Ask yourself how are you feeling right now? You are invited to ask yourself questions without knowing the answers, let your body do the answering. It's okay for feelings in your body to change. Spend time focusing on being connected to your feelings for a few minutes.
