Independence Day celebrations begin this weekend, how will celebrate the holiday with your friends and family? Jason and Nick sat down with Tede Price, Superintendent of Recreation (man, that's a great title) for Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation and Powell Gardens Director of Advancement and Communications Trisha Drape for a preview of some of our community's great Independence Day events, as well as other upcoming summer entertainment options.

But the study recently presented to the City of Lee's Summit does offer a picture of the demand for multi-family housing — both market rate and affordable — today and over the next 10 years. Jason and Nick take a look at that picture before Matt Sanning, executive director at Lee's Summit Social Services joins the show to talk about the services his organization continues to provide the community.

Jason's got something stuck in his craw and it tastes like City Council. A pair of "no" votes on the City's public service agreement with Downtown Lee's Summit Main Street may have annoyed him a little. But its they way they voted no — without discussing it for the record on the dais — that really got him worked up... And as always, Nick and Jason close the show interviewing people doing good in the community. This week, Lee's Summit Town Hall is joined by three members of the Lee's Summit Meals on Wheels Board of Directors.

So, they decide to pay homage to former tv host David Letterman with a top 10 list of alternative reasons for the cancelation.
