Left Field Daily Message

The sermon on the mount.

In this message, we touch on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), exploring how I see Jesus' teachings guiding us toward a life of service and righteousness. Key points include the Beatitudes, being salt and light, fulfilling the Law, and teachings on various aspects of life and faith. We emphasize the need for a continuous pursuit of living according to Jesus' instructions and the transformative power of His teachings in our lives.

Are you standing on the corner?

Social media has become the modern "street corner" where people seek validation and praise. Jesus warned against doing good deeds for public recognition. Instead, true righteousness comes from serving God in secret, without seeking attention. Let’s focus on glorifying God rather than ourselves, keeping our faith genuine and our actions sincere.

Fill your role.

I know this is a long one but hopefully this helps with a little clarity or focus shift on what we tend to get lost in when it comes to our role as a man and a woman. We are equally important. We are made for each other. We are the same level of importance, however, our roles are different and can't be compared to each other.

Find the how.

You've been getter betting and better but there are still these situations where you get it wrong "in the moment." I had one again yesterday and asked God about this and then He says talk to people about it then. Tell them how to find the "How" of getting it right in the moments. So this is what I have so far. I hope to revisit this in the future to see if it worked for you and for me.

When Jesus makes me smile.

Ever think of moments from your past and get hit with overwhelming emotional tears or you burst out laughing? How do you explain laughing or smiling when someone shares their toughest moment of their toughest battle with you?

My one answer right now is the joy of the Lord. There is fullness of joy in the presence of the Lord. May this joy find you right now and may Jesus make you smile.

It's never too late.

This one is so good this morning. I feel you have to listen because text can't explain this message. The title says it all. It's never too late. Nothing is ever too late for the Lord. He keeps calling to you like He was calling Samuel. The time is NOW! Answer God's call. Say to Him, "Here I am, send me." Say to Him, "Speak Lord, your servant is listening."

You never know what sticks.

Ever have someone come up to you and remind you of something you said or did a long time ago? You don't remember it but they share with you how it changed their life forever. We don't know what effect our words and actions can have on people whether it be for the better or for the worse. Your words or your actions can change someone's life forever. Your words or actions could be the ones God uses today to change someone's life for the better, forever. It could be your words or actions that God can use to flip your life around forever! You never know what sticks, so we might as well try to make it good.

God equips.

God tends to you call you for things you're either afraid of, think you're bad at or things you think you can't do. Moses had a stutter, God called him to speak. Why? So that we can boast about God's amazing everything, so that we cannot brag on ourselves and so that we can grow through it. A longer message this morning but please try to get through it. I might be speaking but this message hits me nicely in the spot and yes, I made a joke too ;)

God has the plan.

I used to fight with myself about my planning capabilities until now. God knows the plan. God has the plan. My job, apart from following the instructions He gave us, is to seek Him. Seek first the kingdom of God. As I seek Him, He shows me my next move. I don't need to worry about tomorrow, He's already there and sorting things out. He is the one that goes before you. Seek God first my friend. He knows you and He has the plans for you.

The plan doesn't change.

Jesus intends to meet you where He said He will. It's our job to go where He sends us. The journey has all sorts of stuff that can and probably will happen along the way. In Mark 6 it says Jesus intended to pass the disciples by as they were struggling in the boat on the way to the other side. When they saw Him and cried out, He went to them. He intends to meet you where He sends you, He sees you during the whole process, He's near enough to see at all times and He'll come to you if you need Him, but the plan doesn't change.
