Businesswoman Kendra Reichenau, one of only five people to ever have moved from San Francisco to Minnesota, brings her humor and intellect into the studio for a conversation with Jim and Sam. In some ways she is all business, having most recently been CEO of Coolibar, a sun protective clothing manufacturer. And in other ways, she is just what the guys needed on a Friday morning - someone who can put them in their place and laugh while doing it. Thank you for sharing your story with us Kendra!

Daughter and Father, Ashley and Dan Bredemus, stopped by the studio back in March, pre-covid19, to discuss their plans for the upcoming summer. Birchwood Wilderness Camp, founded in 1958 by Dan’s folks, has been a safe place for boys to spend their summers ever since. With all the uncertainties of this time, it is comforting to listen to them talk about their love of the wilderness and the opportunities wilderness holds for our young people. This summer will not be what the previous 50+ have been, but rest assured that Ashley, Dan and the Birchwood family will be there when camps resume in the future. Please support your favorite institutions during these hard times. From the Legacy Matters crew, thank you to all the hard working professionals who give our children guidance and support at any time.

Kelly Holstine is one wow after another. Her life is filled with the passionate pursuit of equity for marginalized humans in our world. Kelly doesn’t just talk - she does. Her work with Outfront MN keeps her busy now, but in the past ten years she has opened a school, received the 2018/2019 MN State Teacher of the Year Award, politely protested against dangerous behaviour and remained strong in the face of unwarranted death threats. Please listen carefully as we try to sort through some difficult topics. Kelly is a fantastic guide on a journey to a better understanding of the LGBTQ+ community. If the letters have meaning for you, or if you are kind and curious, take a listen as Kelly educates Sam and Jim, two men who very much appreciate the knowledge she imparts. Thank you for sharing your story with us Kelly!

Ben Weaver in his words: I am a poet, songwriter, letterpress printer/book maker, public speaker and endurance cyclist. I create work that breaks down the emotional and systemic structures separating humans from the ability to feel our connections to the greater web of life and each other.

Ben joined Sam and Jim for a discussion on life and our connection to the natural world. Ben rides his bike to all of his shows, including those thousands of mile from home. He plays open spaces and occasionally for a stranded couple he happens to encounter along the way. His passion and dedication are unmistakably ever present. Thank you for sharing your story with us Ben!

An episode much needed in today’s climate of uncertainty, the crew welcomes world-renowned explorer and climate activist Will Steger. Both humble and wise, Will’s record breaking expeditions to the earth’s most unforgiving environments does not define him - but are a reflection of the values he holds most dear. A deep reverence for nature, the highly honed ability to “live in the moment” and capturing life’s joy through simple pleasures are his mottos. His sense of adventure started at an early age, with trips down the Mississippi River in his teens, train-hopping across the country and work with Outward Bound. Along with frequent trips back to the wilds of Mother Nature, Will is encouraging the next generation of climate leaders through his work at Climate Generation. For him, “endurance is about giving, not fighting”. It’s a credo he demonstrates every day through his purposeful actions. Thank you, Will, for sharing your stories - and great adventures - with us. You are an inspiration to us all!
