Laura Horovitz, Partner in our Employment and Pensions Division, has teamed up with special guest, Mark Sutton KC from Old Square Chambers, to record a podcast series on MHPS. 

In this fifth and final episode of the series, Laura and Mark look back at the reasons why MHPS was introduced in 2003, which included enabling Trusts to handle concerns about doctors quickly and fairly, abandoning the culture of suspension of doctors, and tackling the blame culture in the NHS. They then reflect on whether MHPS has achieved those aims, taking into account national data, and offering their own thoughts and observations too.

 Please note that since this episode was recorded the PPA has released a further Insights paper on exclusions, here. This confirms the trends in relation to exclusions remain as discussed in the podcast.
