Legends with Bevo

With the Tokyo Olympics getting closer, I thought it would be great to get a real insight into what it's like being at the Olympics.  

What a way to start off with our first guest, endurance cyclist, Pat Jonker. 

Pat is a two-time Olympian (1992 and 1996) and winner of the Tour Down Under (2004).  

Pat didn't hold back when asked about former team mate Lance Armstrong and his win at all costs attitude.  

We also spoke about the build up to the Olympics and what training was involved, how the crowd inspires athletes and Pat's thoughts on Tokyo 2021.

In a Legends with Bevo exclusive, KB gave his honest opinion on how it ended with his friend and former 36ers coach Joey Wright.

“It got a bit ugly there Bevo and it wasn’t good for the players and the club, I think Joey deserved to go out better than that.”

We also spoke about KB’s business, Brooks Basketball Services, playing in the NBA and growing up in South Carolina, why the great Phil Smyth was such a successful coach and some classic stories about his time at the Adelaide 36ers.

The Statewide Super League Grand Final is finally here and Bevo and Smurf bring you a jam packed show with not one but both of the SANFL Grand Final coaches, Jade Sheedy from the Eagles and Jacob Surjan from the Roosters and the guru of the Statewide Super League, the SANFL’s very own Media Producer, Zac Milbank.

We are extremely lucky to have both coaches at the same time and it’s a laugh a minute as we do a fun quiz with the boys that you don’t want to miss, we go into both camps to find out how they are going in the lead up to the big game, the keys to winning, how they’ve enjoyed their first year as head coaches respectively and in our favourite segment, we give the coaches their chance to dish the dirt on the players and officials at their clubs.

Zac, Bevo and Smurf preview the Granny, find out how the Eagles beat South, talk about the season that was and most importantly we find out Zac’s tip for the big game.

It's a huge show with round one of the finals done and dusted, Bevo and Smurf are joined by two terrific guests to wrap it up. Eagles premiership defender Matthew Goldsworthy joins the boys again and SANFL Expert Commentator, Chris Kendall makes his debut appearance on the show.

We also spoke about breaking that 33 year premiership drought last year, what it was like to be involved at AFL clubs, Fremantle, West Coast and Sydney and working with some of the games best coaches including Ross Lyon.

We wrapped up a huge final round of the SANFL with Zac including a couple of big upset wins with Central's knocking off the Eagles in an after the siren thriller and the Bloods too strong for the Redlegs to end their season in style.

Joffa responds to skipper Luke Habel's comments about Joffa earlier on in the year and we give Jeff the chance to dish the dirt on some players and coaches at the club and there's a real surprise as to who loves the reality television the most at the club.

We also find out from Joffa that his nickname surprisingly has nothing to do with Joffa from Collingwood's cheer squad, Jeff also talks to us about how he's found his first year at the Doggies and how he ended up at the Doggies and what it was like working as an Assistant Coach in the past two years at the Werribee FC where he worked under 2004 PAFC Premiership coach Mark Williams.

The SANFL is well and truly heating up and with only one game to go until the finals we now know who will be playing in the first round of finals with the Eagles to take on North and South to take on the Bays.

With only two more weeks to go of the regular season, the Statewide Super League is well and truly heating up. Bevo and Smurf wrap up all the results and the latest news from round 12. The Eagles are showing that they are the team to beat after a big win against the Bays and Norwood have kept their finals hopes alive with a thrilling win over Sturt.
