It was great fun chatting recently to another AFL legend, Western Bulldogs games records holder, Brad Johnson aka 'The Smiling Assassin'.
We talked about: Brad's new business Zena Sport which is doing a great job of providing protection for females playing contact sport. https://zenasport.co
His footy journey with the Dogs and some of the best players that he's played with and against as well as some of the pranksters during his footy career.
It was a huge thrill on Legends with Bevo to interview three-time Brisbane Lions premiership star and one of the greatest ever AFL players, Simon Black.
We spoke about the Australian Rules Academy and the great work that Blacky and his team are doing around Australia as well as locally through Richie Douglas and the Norwood Football Club.
Blacky also tells some great stories about his time on Australian Survivor last year that you don't want to miss and some brilliant stories about his illustrious career with the Lions.
In my media career I have interviewed some big names in politics, sport and media, but none that encompass all of these on a level that Phil Cleary does. Phil took over from the great Bob Hawke in the House of Representatives in the 90’s and has one heck of a resume.
Phil is an author, anti-violence campaigner, radio presenter and he has own podcast. He is also a former VFA footballer, coach and commentator and was previously a teacher.
We talked about Phil’s:
Incredible work that he’s done as an anti-violence campaigner following the tragedy of losing his sister in the late 1980's
Taking over Bob Hawke in the House of Representatives
Football career as a former player, coach and commentator in the VFA
Podcast based on the World War Two documentary, Gladys and the Brunswick Boys (see links below)

Enjoyment of being a teacher
Three books and one in manuscript that he has written

After a long hiatus, it was great to finally do an interview for Legends with Bevo in person and what a great guest to kick things off!

I really enjoyed catching up with Belle Brockhoff an Australian snowboarder, who is a four time world champion and has competed for Australia twice at the Winter Olympics. We talked about the challenges of social media when being a professional athlete, what made her take up snowboarding as a sport, balancing study with snowboarding, big stacks, the training involved plus much more.
Whilst many of us are spending more time at home, I have been working really hard with the help of my awesome camera guys and others to keep giving you engaging content and great guests on Legends with Bevo.
Speaking of working hard, Troy Gray is certainly the perfect example of this. He is the Founder and CEO of Charity TV Global and former footballer in the AFL with the Sydney Swans and St Kilda and in the SANFL with West Adelaide.
Nothing is off limits as I chat to one of the most flamboyant footballers and larger than life characters, Warwick Capper aka The Wiz.
The Wiz shares some classic stories about his footy career, what it was like working with Pamela Anderson and Charlie Sheen, how he's keeping busy during the Covid 19 situation plus much more.
Language warning, there is a few F-Bombs dropped in the video but nothing to out of the ordinary.
Like a lot of industries, the tourism industry has taken a massive hit with Covid-19 so it was very interesting hearing from Brent Hill, the Executive Director of Marketing at the South Australian Tourism Commission.
Brent and I discussed:
How his role has been affected by the virus
The recovery process for Adelaide Hills, KI and tourism in SA
What we can do to help with building tourism in these regions
Excitement regarding the Barossa Valley Hotel and new SkyCity
Thoughts on the future of Virgin Australia.
I, like a lot of people are certainly missing my footy so it was nice to have a footy fix when I caught up with Port Adelaide Football Club's young gun, Jarrod Lienert.
and his thoughts on the idea to have a footy hub in Melbourne.
It was a thrill to catch up on Legends with Bevo for a chat with an inspirational and wonderful ambassador for mental health, Gus Worland from Triple M Breakfast and Dead Set Legends.
We talked about the Gotcha4Life Foundation that Gus has set up and the COLIV-19 initiative and how people can get involved.
Gus also shared his thoughts on the controversy around the NRL's plan to start their season at the end of May and what he thinks about State of Origin Rugby going to different states around Australia.
It was great to also hear a classic story about being in the commentary box for the cricket with Kerry 'Skull' O'Keefe and best mate and actor, Hugh Jackman.
