This new episode of the Low-tech Lab podcasts, (first in english!) was recorded to complete the seventh investigation, around Precious Plastic universe.Â
Joseph joined the Precious Plastic family at the beginning of the 4th development phase — also known as “V4 ” — in 2018, and now works on machines improvement and international community development as a Core Team member.Â
In this interview he tells us more about what led him to engage in this project, his role within the Precious Plastic ecosystem, and his long-term vision on plastic materials use, among other challenges faced in modern societies.
Precious Plastic ? The project was initiated by a dutch designer, Dave Hakkens, in 2013. This movement aims to make alternative ways of recycling plastic waste, based on human-scaled businesses and handicrafts, more accessible to all, and economically viable everywhere. Precious Plastic contributors are able to use their “community platform ” to share open source blueprints, designs, knowledge, experiences, how-tos, and online tools; they can also organize community event, collaborative research, and sell their recycled products online.
Enjoy your listening ! :)
