  • Lesson 350: Use Oblique Strategies

    Lesson 350: Use Oblique Strategies

Oblique Strategies is a set of cards that will help unleash your creativity. According to the Eno Shop, "In 1975, Peter Schmidt and Brian Eno created the original pack of Oblique Strategies cards, through thinking about approaches to their own work as artist and musician. The Oblique Strategies constitute a set of over 100 cards, each of which is a suggestion of a course of action or thinking to assist in creative situations. These famous cards have been used by many artists and creative people all over the world since their initial publication." The cool thing is you can get the app too. When you are stuck, just open it and pick a card that points you where you should consider going.

    Lesson 349: Keep Improving

When you get to a goal, do not rest on your oars. While there, keep working, keep improving, keep getting better. It doesn't have to be a massive improvement. It can be tiny but as long as you keep improving, it adds up and you will be able to tell the difference as time goes.

PROMPT: What are you working on improving?

  • Lesson 346: Focus On The Context

Lesson 346: Focus On The Context

When we take things out of context, we make them worse than they could be. We misunderstand what the person might have meant and we might share incorrect information. When you are told anything, make sure you have the full picture and know what the context is before you respond.

PROMPT: Have you taken things out of context?

Lesson 345: Don't Harass The Enemy

As you learn about your enemy, you might be tempted to harass them. Don't. It will only exacerbate things. What you need to do is keep the information you've learned for when they come for you. Don't harass them because you just might not have the whole picture. Stay in your lane.

    Lesson 344:  Know The Enemy

  • Lesson 343: Give Solutions

    Lesson 343: Give Solutions

When we hit a snag, there is a part of us, sometimes a large part of us, that wants to focus on the problem. What we need to do is reframe and focus on possible solutions. When you focus on the problem, you are stuck in a negative spiral. However, when you focus on solutions, you are giving yourself a chance to move towards a positive outcome. Focus on the solution and then share the solutions you come up with.

PROMPT: What was the last solution you shared?

  • Lesson 342: You Don't Need Everyone

Lesson 342:   You Don't Need Everyone

It's a great feeling to be liked. However, we should know that not everyone will like us. We don't like everyone either. It's just how life goes. In the same vein, we don't need to have a large team to achieve amazing goals. It's ok to cut people off, especially people that bring negativity wherever they are.

PROMPT: Who do you focus on?
