Lesson 252: Vote
There's an election coming up. There was the other election. There are times we feel our vote doesn't matter but you know what? It does. If you want to get your voice heard, go ahead and vote. Register, check out the candidates, and then place your vote. Every vote counts.
PROMPT: When was the last time you voted?

Lesson 251: Take Pictures
We all have pretty awesome cameras in our possessions as long as we have a phone so wherever you see cool stuff, stuff you find pretty, stuff you want to remember, pull your phone out and take a picture. there are pictures you look at that immediately evoke certain emotions. Pictures are powerful and you should create them more often.
PROMPT: What was the last picture you took?

Lesson 250: If You Don't Mean It, Don't Say It
This lesson is pretty simple, if it's untrue, if you don't mean it, don't say it. These days the word "love" gets tossed about a lot. It's super powerful too so I get it but if you don't feel a certain way about someone, there's no need to say you do. It complicates things for everyone including yourself.

Lesson 249: Face It Head On
Responsibilities come with the position you are given. If it seems like you have a lot of responsibilities all of a sudden, it just means you are at a different position or should be at a different position. That, however, isn't the focus of today's lesson. The lesson is that whatever responsibility we have, we should face them head-on. It might seem difficult but it's the best approach. Be it responsibility, be it punishment, be it lessons, whatever it might be, face it head-on. It will be over before you know it and you can move on with the lessons learned.

Lesson 248: Install Redundancies
If you are working on something, you should stay focused on your goal. However, you should put redundancies in place because the things supporting you on your journey to your goal might stop working which will stall your progress. It shouldn't just end there either; once that goal is reached, you have to install redundancies because life happens and something might crap out when you least expect it to. Redundancies keep you going because when something spoils you have the replacement ready to go.
PROMPT: What redundancies do you have in your current project?

Lesson 247: Enjoy The Sunshine
It's summer, well, it's slowly coming to an end but hey we hold on for all it's worth because fall is close and before you know it, boom, winter. The seasons will do their thing, it's just life. However, while we have the sun here, we should enjoy the sunshine. We should do things we love, go to the beach, fly a kite, walk, swim in the lake, barbeque, do fun things and make the most of the summertime.
PROMPT: How do you feel about summer?

Lesson 246: It Shouldn't Be All Work
I am lucky that the work I get to do has moments when it's just fun. However, I have learned that I need to deliberately carve out more fun moments because work shouldn't be all work. No one needs that. We need to make work fun and we have to plan that into our work. It could be taking some time to walk or talk with a loved one. It could be playing a game. It could be taking a power nap. It could be having a muffin. We should always make sure we give our minds time to relax during work.
PROMPT: How do you make your work, fun?

Lesson 245: Find Your Escape
The last few months have been hectic. Thankfully we can go outside now and that's a very good thing. Something we should explore. However, if we don't feel comfortable traveling, that's ok. We should still find a way to escape, even if it's in the confines of our homes. We have to take time away from the noise, from the hustle, and connect with ourselves, give ourselves time to breathe and recover.
PROMPT: What do you do to escape?

Lesson 244: Don't Hug A Cactus
Cactuses are prickly so if you hug them, there's a huge chance you will get pricked. It will hurt. It will suck. Plus, the cactus isn't really asking for a hug. There are people in our lives that are cactuses. They are prickly. They are rude. They are wrong. They don't contribute much yet for whatever reason we feel we should hug them. If you get hurt, it's on you. Don't hug the damn cactus. If you like what it looks like, admire it from a distance and then move on with your life.
PROMPT: What will you do to kick out the cactus in your life?

Lesson 243: Keep Moving
My dad says something ever so often that sticks. It's just one word: Onward. It comes at the right time and to me, the right time is when things get super difficult and it seems there's no way to make it through or when a failure has been dealt/experienced or someone you have placed your hopes and possibly even trust in lets you down. Onward. It isn't easy but it is the logical approach because the only way to get to your goal is to move forward. Keep moving. Onward.
PROMPT: How do you keep moving?
