Cultures around the world have legends of creatures we call dragons. These legends pop up on every inhabited continent, and usually involve someone killing the dragon! What were these creatures and why do so many cultures have similar stories involving them?

Well, I believe these creatures were really dinosaurs—the stories have just been exaggerated over time. And did you know it’s not just myths that mention dragons? Geographers and historians who traveled the world mention dragons living in places like India, Egypt, and China.

Yes, dragons were real creatures, and we’d probably call many of them dinosaurs today!
