  • Ep 122: Begin With YOU

Something I’ve been exploring a lot of is this mysterious thing called “self-care”.  We hear about it all the time and yet what does it really mean?  It’s different for everyone and certainly is a vehicle to being the best version of you and yet start to have a conversation about it and you might be met with some eye rolls. Why is that?  For many, self-care isn’t something that is seen as a way to take good care of you to begin with, it’s often taken on as a reaction to being overwhelmed, exhausted and burnt out.  There is nothing left so now let me take care of myself.  That’s a reaction and often not sustainable.  Today we are going to explore how our comfort zone plays into keeping us from really embracing “self-care” as a way to stay out of it being a need and have it be more of a requirement because you deserve it.

    Here are the highlights:

(01:39) Self care - why do we care?

(10:10) Self-limiting beliefs and your comfort zones

(18:56) Take breaks and be in ownership

  • Ep 121: Growing Up with Mom as a Coach; Real Talk.

I have often been told, “your boys must have loved growing up with you as a Coach”.  My response is, “you might want to ask them that question”, with an immediate giggle that follows.  I am currently on a comfort zone stretch as we speak with my son Chris (tune in to find out more!), so thought it would be fun to revisit Episode 014 which was also a comfort zone stretch!

We explore what it was like to be a kid and teenager growing up with a mom as leadership coach, being fully immersed in leadership principles every single day.  You might say we all grew up as leadership coaches together, because let me tell you, they don’t hesitate to hold me accountable, call me on my “stuff”, and hold me to my word, and being the best version of me, even when I don’t feel like it!  I’ve said it before and I will say it again, they are my greatest teachers and coaches, and I am so incredibly blessed and grateful to be their mom.  They are amazing young men, and I know you will love hearing their perspective.

Here are the highlights from this episode:

    (03:02) No one is perfect

    (11:06) Introducing the boys

    (14:55) Definition of accountability

    (18:54) Mom VS Coach

You know you are a genius, right? Ooooh just that question alone can really stir up some uncomfortableness.  I get it, we often dim our brilliance, as if it is not ok to shine and shine bright. • Ep 118: The “Desires” of Our Lives

One of my favorite questions is “have you thought of…”?  It can often spark a deep desire I never knew I had or wanted.  I especially love this question when it is not coming from someone else’s agenda/opinion rather something they are seeing or hearing from me that I am not even aware I have been putting out there!  It’s such a great question that opens possibilities versus igniting the “shoulds” in our lives.  Today we will take on what desires are and how to tap into them to create more of the results we want in our lives.  Let’s go!!

Here are the highlights from this episode:

(01:24) Making decisions because you should

(04:28) I don’t know why we do it

(07:55) What’s your purpose, and why is it important to you?

(12:28) The people around me didn’t understand what I was doing

    (17:10) Seeing a new possibility
