Let's Face The Facts - A Facts Of Life Podcast by David Almeida

Originally from March 2023: We were so inspired by “The Facts Of Life Reunion,” we decided we needed MORE reunions! So, we’re talking about the 1985 TV movie “I Dream Of Jeannie… 15 Years Later.” We learn what’s happened since the final episode of IDOJ … Tony and Jeannie are still married, and they have a son named Tony, Jr. (played by TFOL’s own Mackenzie Astin). Tony is kind of dick, Jeannie leaves him and illogically decides to live life as a mortal, and Jeannie’s brunette sister is still stirring up trouble (probably because she’s mad they never gave her a name other than ‘Jeannie II’). You can watch the entire movie ahead of time on YouTube.

From February 2023: Get out your fabric swatches, feed your pet pig, and whatever you do, DON’T get Julia riled up! David and Matthew talk about a “very special” 2-part episode of Designing Women! In Season 4, Episodes 13/14, “The First Day Of The Last Decade Of The Entire Twentieth Century,” Charlene (Jean Smart) goes into labor on New Year’s Eve 1990. Hilarity ensues in the form of a snow storm, a radio contest, and a blind date gone wrong. But thankfully Dolly Parton shows up as (you guessed it) an angel, and Beah Richards (a/k/a Tootie’s future grandmother-in-law in TFOL S9 E20 “Present Imperfect”) plays an elderly sage whose wisdom tugs on every heart string in all of Atlanta. (And of course, who can forget Jean Smart’s guest appearance in TFOL S5 E14 “Next Door” as a frantic single mom? We certainly didn’t. Though you may notice we make no mention of it whatsoever on the show… um… so, yeah. <>) (Available on Hulu)
