Sian Blake, a British actress and her two Sons eight-year-old Zachary and four-year-old Amon was murdered by her partner in London in 2015.

This episode looks at the Murders of Sian Blake, a British actress, best known for playing Frankie Pierre on the British television show EastEnders, and her two beautiful sons, Zachary, eight, and Amon, four.

Sian partner and the boy’s father, Arthur Simpson-Kent attacked and killed all three on the night of 14-15 December 2015.

Simpson-Kent had gone to great lengths to conceal his crimes, misleading friends, family, and the police about what he had done.

Even more callously, he suggested that Sian and he had entered a pact to end all their lives because of her condition.

This was not true. In fact, Sian had been making inquiries about schools for the children and had been considering moving to live with her family without him.”

Police believe he committed the murders because she was planning to leave him and take the children.

  • The Case of Venessa George ("Paedophile Gang" - 2009)

Vanessa George, one of the main members of a paedophile ring involving at least five adults from different parts of England. Four of the five members were women.

The case showed that the perpetrators were acting of their own free will and for their own sexual gratification.

The case prompted an increased recognition of the problem of female paedophiles, sex offenders, and the scale of their offending, with one estimate suggesting that at least 10% of sex offenders are female.

The case also challenged the false stereotype that only men sexually abuse children.

Previously some had attempted to blame the behaviour of female child sexual abusers on men, suggesting that the female child sex abusers were usually acting under duress or coercion.

  • The Murder of Helen McCourt ("Helen's Law" - 1988)

Helen McCourt was Murdered by Ian Simms on the 9th of February 1988, she was 22-years old at the time of her murder. Her body has never been found.

This case out-lines the day of her murder, but this case is really about Helens Law:

This Bill received Royal Assent on Wednesday 4th November 2020 and was enacted into law.

Since her daughter's disappearance, Marie McCourt has devoted herself to work for Support after Murder and Manslaughter (SAMM) and still puts pressure on Simms to reveal the location of Helen's body.

Simms was given a life sentence with a minimum tariff of sixteen years. On 21 November 2019, before the law could be adopted, it was reported that a Parole Board review on 8 November had recommended Simms for release, finding that he had "met the terms for release". He is now FREE.
